Magical Mantras,
By
This review is from: The Mantra Healing Collection (Audio CD)
Since purchasing this set I have unlocked blockages that I didn't know I had. The sounds are melodic and soothing. If I didn't know any better I would think it was just some great sounds...but alas there are hidden benefits to the Mantras. This is a must have for any enlightened soul yearning to be free.

Anandi Ma sings healing mantras,
By
This review is from: The Mantra Healing Collection (Audio CD)
This compact disk is of mantras in the Hindu tradition. The singer has a beautiful voice and the whole disk is nicely produced. It will be of interest to those who are committed to the Hindu way of worship. To others it may seem repetitious. Whether listening to these will or will not raise consciousness is argumentive. However, to those who like the Hindu way, and follow it, any of Anandi's recordings are worth while. Her husband's deeper voice harmonizes well.

This review is from: The Mantra Healing Collection (Audio CD)
This CD collection contains 3 CDs, Mantras for Releasing Fear, Mantras for Abundance, and Healing Mantras. The included CD booklets provide some brief helpful information such as mantra seed sounds, nadis and chakras, Hindu deities, culture of India, how to use the CD, and the mantras on the CDs. I appreciate that some thought was put into the booklets to help listeners. Each CD has a brief introductory track. Shri Anandi Ma and Shri Dileepji Pathak have a simple authentic folk sound and it is nice to hear native speakers chant the mantras. You will not find the smoothness of someone like Deva Premal, but that is part of the charm. The accompanying music is minimal to complement rather than overwhelm the chanting. If you want something to learn mantras and chant along with this CD set is great for that purpose. The pace isn't too fast so it's not that hard to follow along. Some believe by actually chanting a mantra you will intensify the effect of the mantra as the vibration of the sound goes into your body/chakras. Don't expect overnight results. If you are interested in learning more about mantras you might try some of Thomas Ashley-Farrand's books and CDs. Whether you believe in the power of mantras or not, you can just enjoy the chanting. I find the listening to the chanting helps quiet the mind and I like to play it while doing certain moving meditations. Not everyone will appreciate the simple sound. For those listeners you might try Deva Premal or Krishna Das.
