Will never buy another Manttra, September 21, 2011
This review is from: Manttra Quick & Easy 6 Quarts Aluminum Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
I have owned 2 of these-both failed within a year or year and a half with the same issue--the plastic ring inside the relief valve broke. Also, the seal wears quickly, the pot marks countertops not matter how many times it is washed, and it has a tendency to get clogged. Several times, always while cooking beef, the valve gets clogged very quickly and the relief valve would pop and spew extremely hot liquid everywhere. This has happened even when on very low temperatures. After the plastic ring in the valve breaks, it's pretty much useless.

Sturdy and EASY to use., March 30, 2010
This review is from: Manttra Quick & Easy 6 Quarts Aluminum Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
I got this pressure cooker to tenderize very tough meats, cook beans faster, etc. I was a little worried since I never used a pressure cooker before, but this thing is really easy with clear labels for lock/unlock on the lid. A bright colored switch.
It also has a very sturdy design. It's worth 2x the amount you pay on amazon.
Caution: If you cook frothy things, boil off that stuff first, since it can clog the nozzles in the pressure cooker. That not something specific to this cooker, just a general safety tip for noobs to pressure cooking.

First time user.., September 5, 2010

I bought this pressure cooker because a friend of mine owned one and was always using it to cut down the cooking time of some tougher cuts of meat.
I have used it 4 times since my July purchase and I am very happy. I have made a batch of split pea soup with ham hocks and it was done in 45 mins. The meat was falling off the bone, just the way I like it. I am still learning to get the correct timing with other cuts of meat but altogether I am satisfied.
