I bought this pressure cooker about 2 weeks ago. I used it one time and when I went to wash it I noticed that there was a double metal plate on the bottom. (NOT a solid bottom) Unfortunately on mine this double 'plate' was separating just a fraction (about 1/8 of an inch) on one side only. I knew this couldnt' be good as with cooking and the heat constantly on the bottom, the plate would continue to separate over time. So I returned it to amazon. Hope they take it back. Just a heads up. Now I am looking at Presto as they seem to have a solid bottom on their cookers. This Manttra was made in China. Probably they all are but I do not like the design of a second plate on the bottom of the pot. Check yours when you get it.

This by far the worst pressure cooker for your money..Parts ware out fast. Manttra does not back it's products even after a recall has been issued.
