Really nice moderately priced cooker, December 10, 2005
This review is from: Manttra Quick & Easy 6 Quarts Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
I've owned the Manttra 6 Qt stainless cooker for a year and find it reliable, easy to clean and very efficient in doing what pressure cookers should do -- make tender food quickly. I use my mostly to cook beans and other dried foods and it does a great job. I'm buying more for gifts this year.

I am a sold on it, September 22, 2008
This review is from: Manttra Quick & Easy 6 Quarts Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
This is my first pressure cooker, and it surpassed the claims on the box. The food taste great, it is three times quicker to make, and clean up is too easy. I am a guy who thinks he can cook; I can't stand my own cooking. Gram slam, pressure cookers are fast, food taste out of this world, and clean up is too easy. I got it on clearance ($24) and was scared stupid it would blow up and scald me. First time out it was quick (20 mins) and perfect. Several other times, hey, still the same. Even my very picky weight conscious daughter is woofing down my chow!!! I hate, hate, hate, lentils; my wife loves lentils. Man, the lentil soup was like candy, I got seconds, and took some for lunch at work. I nuked the soup at work, and I thought my bud who was crewing on a sand which was going to come over the table and snatch my soup. Yeah, the instruction booklet is translated from India. Of course the recipes are from India, sound fantastic, but I don't have the stuff in the recipes. That might be the only minus, maybe. Pressure cookers are great, no matter what brand. I figured out when the steam comes fast, throttle down the stove till it comes out in puffs, twenty minutes later your done. I got mine on clearance for $24 (sorry Amazon), but if your lazy, you got to rediscover the old school way of pressure cooking quick and dirty.

Mantra Pressure Cooker, January 11, 2010
This review is from: Manttra Quick & Easy 6 Quarts Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
I purchased a Mantra Pressure Cooker. It worked well after a number of uses. Shortly afterwards, the cooking ability of the Mantra started to diminish. The handle would shake and water would leak out from the handle and the circumference of the cooker. After a few more cooking session, the steam/valve stopped working. I finally trashed it. Not sure if I had a defective one?
