The logic behind indulgences is spelled out in the introduction for those who have issues about indulgences in the first place.

Great document that clearly presents the official doctrine of the Catholic Church about indulgences and how to apply them. This is not a theology treatise nor a text book for study, this is what it is, a manual. It has a very nice presentation, letter size and format.

This book gives all the information that a Catholic (or non-Catholic) needs to know about Indulgences. It quotes relevent Biblical referances and then explains the Churchs norms.

A added plus is that the prayers are also given throughout the book.

Every devout Catholic should own this manual. Indulgences are used to pray for not only our souls, but relieve the Church Suffering in Purgatory. Ultimately, the indulgences bring us and those we pray for closer to Jesus Christ.

Simple to research and read. Excellent detail and factual. Covers Indulgences very well and presents the most current rules, regulations and requirements. Purchased this book and "A Modern Guide to Indulgences" at the same time. This book felt more official and I prefer it. The Guide gave a better background on the subject. Enjoy...
