Great All Around Guide,
By SIster Mirium "Sister" (Land of Waterfalls) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Manual for Lay Eucharistic Ministers (Paperback)
While there is no substitute for good training, I found this book to be a concise and well written guide that pretty much covered every aspect of this ministry. So far as I know, it is the only book available for Episcopal Lay Eucharistic Ministers, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it really provides all the guidance and information you need! I did not agree with 100 percent of the authors observations (i.e., she likes full sized chalices, I prefer them for the ambulatory but find them impractical for bed ridden people) but the info that mattered hit the nail on the head ever time. Since the specified rite is indeed in the book (unless I am mistaken, Episcopal Lay Eucharistic Ministers MUST use this rite), I really don't understand what the other reviewer means, it is as close as one could get to a complete guide.

Not for a beginner.,
By Mrs. McGillicuddy (Texas) - See all my reviews

If you have been asked to be a lay eucharistic minister and don't quite know the procedure, this book is not for you. I had hoped to find a step-by-step "this is what you do from beginning of service to end" and I was sorely disappointed.
