4.0 out of 5 stars How 2 move 55gal of H2O June 16, 2006
In a couple of the construction work camps on the Alaskan pipeline we stored water in 55 gal drums. Okey so you prepared by filling your 55 gal drums of water, so now how are you going to get it out? We set them on their sides with a spigot screwed into one of the caps in the top. You don't have to do that or wrestle the drums with this SIPHON Pump. Ease of use and preparation is in the details. Make it easy on yourself and get this pump to do just that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine March 17, 2010
By SuzyQ
Reading the previous reviews we became nervous. We have had one of these for several years with our 55 gallon drums of water. We just tested it to be sure it works. No problem. Pumps plenty of water just fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars water barrel pump February 27, 2012

I used this when I finished filling my water barrel to remove some water to make sure it works. I have owned several shorter versions of this pump for pumping kerosene into my heaters. Even with years of use, they always work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product ... worth the expense! February 20, 2013

My wife and I decided some time ago to begin harvesting rain water, as it does get awfully hot and dry in West-Central TX. We purchased two 55-gallon drums, and devised a way to capture the falling rainwater from our roof (we don't have a gutter system) and within a week, filled our two barrels. Imagine my surprise when I realized just how heavy 440 lbs is, as I learned I should have installed spigots at the bottom of the barrels and had no clean and easy way to get the water out.

Thank God for these types of pumps!

I got mine in the mail yesterday, removed it from its shipping box, and went to work. The product is made of plastic and so I have no doubts that it will wear out in time, however yesterday it worked exactly as advertised!

I would recommend it to family and friends!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works like it should. September 4, 2013
This is a fantastic siphon pump, it works the way it should. It empties my water barrel just like it should, and does it fast. To make sure this works correctly, make sure that the main pole is in below the water line. At the top, you have a "twisty" top, you have to make sure that that's closed, then start pumping a few times, and then the water will flow. I wasn't sorry I bought it, it's saving me a lot of time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good product September 23, 2013

Primed with a few pumps and watched as water drained at a rapid rate. The amount of water going through the hose is about the same as water coming out a garden hose. No problems and very easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job July 27, 2013

Not a super pump, but we got it for our emergency water supply in 55 gal barrels. Its not fast but it works, and in a pinch that's all I require.

3.0 out of 5 stars it does the job October 8, 2012

not great, not bad, just OK, but you get what you pay for. this was used only for my 50 gallon drum that holds my emergency water supply, and upon first test, it does the job, but don't expect to pump like gallons per minute with this siphon. i would say maybe a gallon per minute. i think if the hose was longer (plastic hose where liquid comes out from) would be better, or you can elevate your container that holds the liquid for a quicker flow.
