An Essential Reference, October 19, 2011
This review is from: Manual on the Use of Thermocouples in Temperature Measurement/Pcn: 28-012093-40 (Astm Manual Series) (Paperback)
If you are making measurements using thermocouples, this is an essential reference book. It explains the theory of thermocouple operation, which actually is NOT what many people think it is. It also describes the various types, and the limitations of them. (For example: the most common thermocouple types are not supposed to be used below zero degrees celsius, even though most reference tables often have values going down to -40 degrees celsius.) In addition, as a publication of an internationally recognized standards-writing body it is an authoritative reference - something that tables and notes in a trade catalog can never be.

Thermocouples, April 22, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Manual on the Use of Thermocouples in Temperature Measurement/Pcn: 28-012093-40 (Astm Manual Series) (Paperback)
This is a very practical manual that gives excellent instructions with the uses of thermocouples. It simplifies the principles for the incidental user, yet it provides quality in-depth information for those who apply them in a wide range of situations. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who has an interest in science, particularly science relating to measurements.
