I'm glad for some Visee!, December 20, 1999

I am pleased that Manuel Barrueco chose to include music by Robert de Visee in this recording. Barrueco's approach to the nuances in Visee's music is stylistically accurate and pleasant. It was also relieving for me to find that Barrueco chose to perform Bach's second violin partita in its entirety rather than only including the Chaconne. Still, his performance of the Chaconne is excellent and this frequently recorded piece benefits from Barrueco's unique style.
