Product Description

Featuring a carefully chosen, solid Canadian cedar top and laminated bubinga back and sides, the Caballero 11 classical guitar is a beauty to behold and play. The headstock and fretboard are made of Indian rosewood. Nickel-plated tuners and Silver-plated frets are installed to last a lifetime. The body binding and wood rosette are exquisite. The Rodriguez Guitar is hand crafted and glued to create precise balances. From the invisible careful sanding, even inside the body, that ensures the finished instrument's purity of tone, to the beautifully unique rosette inlays around the soundhole and on the back of the neck, each guitar is a credit to its luthier and worthy of being handed down from one generation to another. The tone, resonance and beauty of fine guitars are all dependent upon the wood from which they are made. The wood used in the construction of Rodriguez guitars is carefully chosen and aged to guarantee the highest quality. No wood is purchased before the tree has been cut down, and at least 2 years must elapse before the tree is turned into lumber. The wood has to be well cut from the log. The grain must be close and absolutely vertical. The shop i

It's been a very long time since I last picked up a guitar, but I decided I wanted to take lessons and I needed a guitar. I did not have access to a music store where I could try out various classical guitars. I had to order online, so I researched and I made my decision based on the company's reputation and reviews for this guitar that I read online (all over the place - inc. YouTube). I considered a Cordoba model in the same price range (I assumed +/-$300 would be a good range for a decent starter guitar), but the reviews for this one were sightly better and more consistent. I was a bit nervous ... I was clueless about what I wanted/needed, and was buying something sight unseen, and more importantly for a musical instrument, unheard!

I ordered from Musician's Friend, and my guitar and case arrived very quickly and very safely.. it was well packaged.. I was worried because boxes do not always make it through the APO/DPO mail system so easily, but this was securely packed. They even packed the guitar (ordered separately) into the gig bag I chose, which was put into the guitar's box, which in turn was packed into a larger box and padded well!

As for the guitar itself - I don't have much experience at all with comparing instruments (brands, prices, quality, whatever), so take my review with that in mind, but, I can tell when something sounds nice, and, as the daughter of a good carpenter, can tell when things are assembled sloppily!

The guitar is beautiful! A close visual inspection showed all edges, frets, metal work, etc. were very nicely joined, no glue or paint or weird bits out of line. The wood is very pretty. The finish is glossy and even, the metal work and inlay on the headstock are decorative and well made too.

The only guitar I have ever played that beats this one was my grandmother's authentic Spanish guitar made in andalucía, Spain. This is a terrific guitar. The guitar's sound is magnificent. When I first got it, my teacher thought I had spent a thousand dollars in this guitar. This is truly my favorite guitar of three: a fender, a jasmine, and this one. Although the fender was more expensive, this one is truly my favorite.

I came across by chance your customer review . . .
What's going on?
I see the subject concerning the instrument Manuel Rodriguez!
I think it is not fair to have such a mess for a guitar that nobody can say if is really made by MR, or even if is made by MR and there are some faults, should contact the manufacturer, Manuel Rodriguez.
Who can know under which conditions this guitar traveled ?
Even the largest and best distributors in the world are not immune to accidents, deformities, due to factors sometimes undetectable. It's the same for manufacturers.
Why instead of denigrating one of the founders of the school of string instruments in Spain and one of the largest manufacturers of world-renowned guitars, do not send him an e-mail asking for his assistance in relation to your problem.
Write him, describe your concerns !
It's the best solution and it's certain that MR will help you!
The strings positioning in absurd order is the first time I'm hearing such a thing . . .
All instruments to MR are coming out of assembly hall after a lot of checking points. So I'm not sure this guitar is a first-hand one . . .
And the history of guitars made in China, this is madness.
Is somebody ever been to China to see what they are capable? To see the wonders they perform? So why to despise them this way?
Instruments made by MD in China are made with materials coming directly from Spain and the production is monitored by highly talented Kraft-makers.
Despite the fact that we are in a context marked by a change in the over consumption which gives a major challenge for brands, continuous MR meet people on the report Price and Quality. The acoustic performances of its various guitars are in line with this principle.
I hope you agree with me and contact directly MR to solve your issues and I'm strongly encouraging you to do it!
Thank you,
N Vallois
