This book offers simple, affordable, and effective solutions for transforming traditional manufacturing organizations into world-class competitors. Applications of the latest methods of group technology, work cells, set-up time reduction, total quality control, preventive maintenance, and supplier development help companies make their mark in the global marketplace. Improvements in manufacturing are expedited by following the book's ten integrated components of World Class Manufacturing (WCM). Readers learn how to improve relationships between management and employees, company and vendors, and sales, marketing, design engineering, and production departments. Roles of senior management, department managers, and team members are clearly defined to promote better company leadership, faster implementation of changes, and better understanding of transitions to new systems. I believe that this is a great book. The book is very concise and yet helpful in understanding how to become a world-class-manufacturer in the global competitive world. I believe that this book also suitable to be used in any elementary or intermediate manufacturing/ production courses.
