4.0 out of 5 stars An accurate description of John Kerry
The democrats seem to have an uncanny ability to create Myths out of less than even ordinary people, side step the truth and hope you will find out when it is way too late.

John Kerry was not the legendary hero that some have described him to be. The people that have served with him have even called him a liar. So much for his hero days in the service...

1.0 out of 5 stars logical fallacies abound...
In a world governed by a man who 'shoots from the hip', it isn't hard to see why this book gets good reviews. We generally aren't too concerned with specific arguments, but rather general impressions. We come to the table with our conclusions already established.
John Kerry has been a politician for years. That is probably both good and bad. Good because he knows...

4.0 out of 5 stars An accurate description of John Kerry, August 6, 2004
This review is from: The Many Faces of John Kerry (Hardcover)
The democrats seem to have an uncanny ability to create Myths out of less than even ordinary people, side step the truth and hope you will find out when it is way too late.

John Kerry was not the legendary hero that some have described him to be. The people that have served with him have even called him a liar. So much for his hero days in the service!

But what about Kerry being absent for 90% of his votes? How can we take this guy seriously? A lot more than Kerry's inflated military background is being questioned here.

And listening to Kerry speak recently make us all wonder if Kerry is really tuned in to the current economy or if he is still living in the Jimmy Carter years.

And isn't it funny how the democrats cheer for the Bush-bashing books that came out early this year, write and rewrite endless reviews giving flaming 5 star reviews and then distorting the numbers with high votes but when a accurate, well researched book like this one or the ones about Al Gore or Bill Clinton come out, they call it hyprocisy or even sacriligous.

I think it's time that these people realize that there are a lot of skeletons in the democrats closets. Kerry, like Gore and Clinton before him, is no hero and has made a lot of mistakes. The American public has a right to know about this man before they cast their vote.

I applaud David Bossie for a well researched book and for setting the record straight on Sen. Kerry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate and honest..., July 26, 2004

This review is from: The Many Faces of John Kerry (Hardcover)
As a voter in Massachusetts, I have grown very familiar with John Kerry as my senator. As an avid reader, I was eager to read the various books that came out covering his run for President, including the one he wrote himself. Of all the books, this one best portrays John Kerry as the voters of Massachusetts have come to know him. It is fair and honest about Kerry to its very core. This book, unlike most others, does not make Kerry out as being the legendary hero...nor does it tear him apart as a villain. It presents the voter with a fair, unbiased view of his life and history in politics. It simply sets the record straight. Those who claim it is biased against Kerry are those who do not want all the facts given to voters. If you want to know the facts about John Kerry so you can form your own opinion as a voter, pick up this book and read. You will not find a more accurate, more truthful, or more politically neutral portrayal of Kerry anywhere else on the book market.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very revealing on Mr. Flip-Flop, August 6, 2004
This review is from: The Many Faces of John Kerry (Hardcover)
I started to become skeptical about Kerry when he suddenly pulled ahead of then front runner Howard Dean. That was validated on CNBC when I was watching a special about Howard Dean's rapid rise and fall and the Dean committee said; "I can't believe Kerry did this! How unethical!"

Kerry really didn't impress me that much in his debates. Not that his competition was much better. Kerry is a flip-flopper. He even supports a .50c/gal gas tax and wants to again tax capital gains and dividend interest on stocks, something that will affect the middle class. No doubt, Kerry will try to roll back the generous 401 (k) and IRA increases and ma keup provisions that Pres. Bush signed in a few years back to help everyone provide for a better retirement.

Of course, Kerry doesn't have to worry about his retirement. Aside from his enormous wealth, he also get's a million dollar retirement plan that he n ever had to pay a dime into not to mention $140,000 per year as a senator even though he fails to show up for 90% of his votes. I wish I could get paid for doing nothing!

This book reveals all of John Kerry's prior misdoings, double standards and flat out lies. I really trust Kerry too much before and I trust him even less now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you Mr. Bossie for revealing "The Real John Kerry"!, January 9, 2005
This review is from: The Many Faces of John Kerry (Hardcover)
David Bossie uncovered the truth about Al Gore and Bill Clinton and now he has done the same on John Kerry. David Bossie unwinds the false image that the media portrays of John Kerry and gives the real dope on this former presidential candidate.

I think all Americans can be grateful to David Bossie and to The Swift Boat Vets for exposing the real John Kerry to the American Public.

Also recommend Unfit For Command by John O'Niel and How To Talk To A Liberal if you really have to by Anne Coulter.

1.0 out of 5 stars logical fallacies abound..., October 4, 2004

In a world governed by a man who 'shoots from the hip', it isn't hard to see why this book gets good reviews. We generally aren't too concerned with specific arguments, but rather general impressions. We come to the table with our conclusions already established.
John Kerry has been a politician for years. That is probably both good and bad. Good because he knows how to get things done, bad because he has probably compromised himself a lot. Find me a politician that hasn't done that. It is simply not a fair standard to judge. While his specific policies have been adjusted, the principles that have informed the policies have not changed.
Three examples of bad reasoning:
1) John Kerry offended vets and the military establishment in the early seventies (even though he happened to be saying things that are taught in history books today), so he is a bad guy. (find cases of great paradigm shift that didn't take a convicted group to take unpopular stands; you don't think MLK offended some people? Still, history is on MLK's side, and on this issue it is on Kerry's. Sometimes the truth is painful).
2) John Kerry has participated in the loads of money changing hands in Washington, so he is a hyprocrite to criticise it. Eisenhower criticized the military establishment, even though he had been long part of it; Johnson did a political about face supporting civil rights as president as compared to his personal political history because, as he said, he finally could do this. Why did these men 'waffle'? Because in order to survive politically, politicians compromise. I am not saying this is right, but we must take into account that our system has flaws that require compromises to survive. Hopefully, when Kerry is elected, he will use is new power to reform these sorts of things. If not, he is about like every other politician.
3)John Kerry has waffled in his Iraq stance. John Kerry agreed that Hussein was a bad guy that needed to be controlled. That does not mean we need to attack Iraq. John Kerry said that any progress on the ground in Iraq would benefit the war on terror. That does not mean any bombing would be of benefit. Bombing is not the same as progress, and in this case it probably is doing more longterm harm than good. John Kerry agreed that we needed to give the president the authority to act, if needed. He did not, however, agree to support the president however he acted. Sometimes we must give authorization to make independent sound judgments. If we believe the resulting judgment was not sound, we certainly have a responsibility to try and stop the action. If you disagree with this reasoning, try this experiment: Whenever you vote for anyone, remember it is waffling if you disagree with them ever again! I may authorize daughter to drive a car some day, giving her the benefit of the doubt that she can make good decisions. But if she shows bad judgment, I certainly have an obligation to adapt accordingly!
We have to expose the kinds flawed arguments like 'Iraq is safer because it Sadaam was bad!' or 'disagreeing with the war is supporting Hussein!' John Kerry has modified his beliefs sometimes for political reasons, but more often because mature people often must adjust their beliefs to fit an ever changing world. Emerson said "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds."

1.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate Sources, October 5, 2004
This review is from: The Many Faces of John Kerry (Hardcover)
Before holding this book as fact, you may want to look into the author's sources. Out of curiousity, I checked into a few of the references in the book. For instance, on page 23 of Chapter Two "Let Them Eat Cake", Bossie mentions that Kerry voted in 1999 to increase tobacco taxes by $133 billion to pay for prescription drug benefits. His reference, #41 of Chapter Two refers to S. Con. Res. 20. This resolution refers to investigations into the bombing of the Israeli Embassy and has nothing whatsoever to do with tobacco tax increases.

Make sure you check a writer's sources before you take his written word for fact. I found several other such discrepencies in this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Like previous works, well documented, August 12, 2004
This review is from: The Many Faces of John Kerry (Hardcover)
I have read this authors previous work regarding Al Gore. Once again Mr. Bossie provides complete references for the claims he makes. I found myself a bit more captivated with his book on Gore. Perhaps there was a bit more passion in that work, but this effort still achieves its goal of exploring some interesting facts about the history of Senator Kerry.

This book really breaks down to categories.

First, there are the bonafide gotchas. The candidates own words used against him. Situations where his voting record and his speaking record don't match. Other incidents where his later words contradict previous statements. Now for some, this might not be a large issue. After all, sometimes opinions evolve given new information. However, there are so many instances where Kerry states a position very passionately, to only later contradict it or back away from it with no new information. The conclusions suggested by Mr. Bossie are plausable, such as whoever he happens to be speaking too at the time or perhaps he has received a large donation recently by parties who would prefer a change in position. Whether you believe the conclusion as to why Kerry has made these changes, the fact remains that the changes occured. So there is clearly a right leaning spin put on everything, but taking the facts just as they are is damning and irrefutable.

A large portion of the book is also a question of dogma. Things like accusing a liberal senator of doing liberal things will likely get a conservative upset, but for the liberal readers, it will simply confirm Kerrys already desirable liberal practices.

Then there are the poorly choosen accusations. By that I mean accusations tossed out by Kerry. Accusations are fine, but when the record shows that you are as quilty of something your accusing someone else of doing - well... I think you get my point.

In summary, most readers will walk away with the barebones facts presented in this book. Kerrys very poor record of showing up to senate votes, his tendancy to change his positions on a whim and his history of not practicing what he preaches.

In no way does this book address or degrade Kerrys service in Vietnam. This book does what it should, focus attention on the facts of a long senate voting record and Kerrys own words from the public record. All things you will likely be able to verify online via a large number of official sources.

5.0 out of 5 stars More facts on Sen. Flip Flop, September 15, 2004
This review is from: The Many Faces of John Kerry (Hardcover)
Isn't it funny how whenever the anti Bush books come out there are hundreds of five star reviews (all same person???) praising the authors for their "brilliant and well researched" work? But whenever a book comes out about a DEM which is in fact well researched and based on fact that same reviewer comes out with negative reviews and dubious websites supposedly offering proof that the information is inaccurate.

Just take a look at John Kerry's presidential campaign which is falling apart as we speak. Look at his 20 year MIA senatorial background and talk to any real Vietnam Vet and ask them how they feel about John Kerry. Forget these books and even reviewers like me, get the facts.

But if you want a book that is based on facts, I highly recommend this book right along with Unfit For Command. Forget those 1 star paid Kerry minions. read the facts and decide for yourself. Far enough? I think so!

5.0 out of 5 stars Can Kerry be trusted? I don't think so!, August 7, 2004
This review is from: The Many Faces of John Kerry (Hardcover)
The economy is currently growing at it's fastest rate in over 20 years. If Kerry becomes President (God forbid!) that will quickly make a U-Turn.

Kerry wants to raise taxes that is no secret. Those taxes will affect everyone, not just the wealthy. He also has some crazy plans on Medicare that will affect the elderly. Certaintly the elderly deserve better!

Want to know what Kerry is really up to? Then read The Many Faces of Kerry by David Bossie. From what I'm hearing, Unfit for Duty which is coming out next week also has some revealing information and facts about Kerry's not so pleasant past.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exposes the many lies of John Kerry, October 24, 2005
This review is from: The Many Faces of John Kerry (Hardcover)
I guess the best thing I can say about John Kerry is that you can't call him two faced. One thousand faced is more like it. This guy changes his mind faster then we change our underwear. No wonder he has to google himself to figure out what he said just 15 minutes ago.

Previously, David Bossie did an excellent job revealing the truth about fmr Pres. Bill Clinton and former VP Al Gore. As a result, this work about Kerry sent chills up the democratic party and brought out a myriad number of wild charges against Bossie and defenses for Kerry by people who never even bothered to read this text. No doubt these were the same people attacking Jerome Corsi and John O'Niell as well as all of the 300+ Swiftboat Vets for the well documented and accurate facts in Unfit For Command.

The Many Faces of John Kerry is well researched and documented. If you choose to argue the points in this book, wouldn't it be a good idea to at least read it first?

The 2004 election may be over and thank God Kerry lost. But the marketing machine that tried to pivot John Kerry, a flip-flopper, a man who hardly made a senate meeting in over 20 years, a man who conspired with the communists is still running and getting ready for 2006 and more importantly, 2008. Next time their model may not be Al Gore, Bill Clinton or John Kerry, but rest assured, it will be an equally unqualified person and their basis will be more hype than fact.

Just look at John Kerry. Does anybody really think that this man was qualified to be our commander-in-chief? And he was the media darling of 2004. The hero of the democrat marketing machine. The man that hollywood elitists supported.

For more information on the real John Kerry, read Unfit For Command. I also recommend the 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America by Bernard Goldberg.

Mr. Bossie, I look forward to your next foray.
