Editorial Reviews

A Benefit CD of family music featuring Dan Zanes, Pete Seeger, Elizabeth Mitchell, They Might Be Giants and over a dozen other artists. Almost all of the tracks are previously unreleased, most recorded especially for this release. Studios, engineers, artists, replicators, distributors (Virtual Label) have either drastically discounted or donated their services. All after-tax profits from the release will benefit the Haitian People's Support Project and their long-standing work to help the people of Haiti.

5.0 out of 5 stars Woth it for Coulton's Song alone... Others are a bonus! December 18, 2010
Format:Audio CD
We bought this compilation becasuse of Spare the Rock Spoil the Child's music podcast, which was adore.... after hearing the song "The Princess who Saved Herself," I absolutely HAD to own it for my children. So Creative and positive!!! So, we bought this album. the only problem is that we wish it had the song Big Pig Sylvester on it too, but the rest of the songs are likewise awesome, and we cannot wait to memorize them all. Definitely an album for parents who a)love to share GREAT music with their kids, but who b)loathe "disneyfied" saccharine kid's albums. This is the Anti-Saccharine-- good rock music, safe for kids, perfect for the after school dance party. My baby, who is two, loves it, and my ten year old loves it as well. And it blessed charity as well? AWESOME.

5.0 out of 5 stars An instant family heirloom! December 8, 2010
Format:Audio CD
Many Hands is an instant family heirloom of a CD, worthy of being passed on to future generations. It's also a lovely slice of the vibrant children's music world in 2010; comprehensive in it's scope yet tight-knit at the same time (just like the kindie scene itself!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised - a JOY of a musical find! January 5, 2011
Format:Audio CD
Bought this CD on a whim during holiday shopping, more for the cause than high expectations for the music. After unwrapping at Christmas we threw it in the car and listen to it on family road trips. It is GREAT! The kids love it, and the adults love it. The variety of artists means each song is a very fresh sound. Many of the Lyrics are very joyful, playful, and even inspirational. I now am encouraged to explore and see if indeed there may be out there a whole Genre called "family music" that is filled with love-made music like this that I could tap into (I was previously just aware of 'childrens music' or 'kid music' and this CD just exceeds that label by many miles). I will recommend this highly to all my personal friends with kids, and give it out as gifts often. But it is SOOOOooo good, I felt obliged to give it a positive public review here in hopes that others may stumble onto this treasure.

We LOVE this CD compilation! If your family loves music, this is a sure bet! A great range of musical moods & loads of dance-able, singable songs for kids and their grown-ups to enjoy. We love Emily Curtis' contribution and Dean Jones' and Grenadilla's songs too! We gave this CD to my son's friend for his 9th birthday--he loves it! There are a few CD release parties for this compilation all over the country--go to [...] to find out where!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! August 13, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
"Many Hands" is an amazing collection of mostly-new family-friendly songs by artists you have heard of. Super production, fun, touching and rollicking! And, of course, the children of Haiti are in desperate need of help in their devastated country. Check it out, you'll like it! (Or possibly love it...)

5.0 out of 5 stars wicked awesome! May 24, 2011

This is, in my opinion, the best family compilation on the market. I listen to it whether my son is in the car or not, and it truly is music appropriate for the entire family. I've owned it for months and have never grown tired of it. They've somehow managed to get an entire list of artists to do special songs or recordings for this cause, and they're all incredible. I now own CDs by the majority of artists I 'discovered" on this album, and honestly, many saved their best songs for this! It's been a great introduction to the Kindie scene for our family, and we are now full-hearted converts. I wish I knew how to better express my love for this CD, but I hope I've convinced you to at least listen to the samples, I think it's something every family will enjoy!
