5.0 out of 5 stars the many and the one April 16, 2012
I happened to get lucky and get this whole series free, the first book was excellent, fast paced and something happening all the time i
could not put it down, as soon as I finished it I moved on to the next book in the series, until I had read all five. I found them all excellent reads and I would highly recommend them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good start to a new series April 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I received this book as a gift from the author - but would definitely have spent money on it if I hadn't gotten it for free.

I really wanted to give this book 3.5 stars but that's not an available option. The good things about this book - I find that far too many people have a hard time writing good characters. That is the farthest thing from true with this book. The author has written characters that you have feelings for by the end. I loved Boomer & Lindsay, I HATED Derek & Charlotte, I was confused by McGee and I felt so much sympathy for Jenny. All of the characters had something to add to the story. They were written wonderfully. The storyline & plot twists to me were very believable. It's a scary thing to think that people could have the capacity to do the things that happened in this book, but between the news & the paper, it's obvious that people will stop at nothing to get what they want. I cried at the end with the final story twist. It was poignant and touching.

The bad - I had a hard time with the writing style. The entire book is essentially narrated. I have read tons of books that are written in the 1st person POV and plenty more that are written in the 3rd person POV but rarely have I ever gotten through a narration of this length. Having said that, it wasn't enough of a problem to hinder my overall enjoyment of the and in no way detracted from the quality in any way, it's just not a style I am usually interested in.

I have already purchased the next book in the series and am hoping that it continues to get better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not even worth 1 star, DELETED from library March 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got this along with the whole series free on kindle and the next day deleted ALL 5 books off my kindle. I couldn't read more than a 1/4 of this book. It was disturbing in many ways and I normally read erotic romance, so it takes a lot to disturb me. The book was written as a narrative which was awkward to read, but I probably could have looked past that. The plot is just not plausible, the dialogue was really bad and there was not one character I liked or felt real. It read like it was written by a high school boy. I have always finished every book I started even if I wasn't into the story but I just couldn't keep reading this one. At one point the Derek's mom took her shirt off, locked the door and told her high school son Derek it was time for her massage. There were other scenes just as bad.

I really hate to give bad review and hate even more not finishing the book. I would have been really mad if I paid for this book. I love books written as a series, especially in a small town so I was very disappointed by this book. I deleted the entire series from my library, it's not worth my kindle space. Maybe it was written geared towards high school boys, not adults.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twisted but well written March 16, 2013

This book was very engaging. It has incestual scenes in it which are disturbing but it plays to the deviance of the villain and is overshadowed by the loving, yet fallible relationship between the main characters. I really liked it.

Format:Kindle Edition
A story about true love, but with suspense and a lot of action, not your pi k romance novel, however, better than many pink novels.

Totally recomend it.
