For Many Shall Come in My Name,
This review is from: For Many Shall Come in My Name (Paperback)
Many, many thanks to Ray Yungen for doing what it takes to write this remarkable book. I have learned so much! Where does one begin to do this book justice? There is so much important information concerning the New Age, Holistic Health, Harry Potter, The Secret, Centering Prayer, Familiar Spirits, etc. etc. Unfortunately, the list goes on as there are so many deviant ideas sweeping through the churches today. Be assured, this book will help you to see your way clearly. Truly caring for all people, Ray Yungen is a watchman, "watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.". You will be blessed!

Watch out for the new age,
By truth-seeker "Caroline" (Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: For Many Shall Come in My Name (Paperback)
This is an in-depth investigation into the new age teachings and movement that has invaded all aspects of American life from health care to our schools and businesses. From the 1960's that generation has been the catalyst for the current surge of the so called spiritual transformation that is now permeating our society.Ray Yungen points out these false beliefs and the dangers of the new age teachings. He shows that when metaphysics is presented as a science, it possible for a person to not be aware of its spiritual influence. Many new age teachers find by calling these occult activities "growth techniques" they are able to deceive people. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi did this with his Transcendental Meditation program emphsizing "the Science of Creative Intelligence" rather than mantra yoga which is what it really is. This is a very enlightening book. I give it an excellent rating.

New (Old) Age Mysticism Exposed,
This review is from: For Many Shall Come in My Name (Paperback)
When his disciples asked Jesus, "Tell us, when shall these things be and what shall be the sign of thy coming and the end of the world?" Jesus answered and said unto them, "Take head that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name saying I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Did you know that many New (Old) Age believers are doing just that? They believe that Christhood is not something you come to at a point in the future when you are more evolved. Christhood is right now! I am the Christ of God. You are the Christ of God. These are extremely unscriptural and dangerous ideas that are permeating every area of society: religion, education, business, alternative healthcare, arts and media and self help. The way to tap into this ancient wisdom that says we are all God, is the through the practice of centering prayer. Using a word, phrase or even centering on your breath you are to let go of all your thoughts or still or blank out your mind. Letting go of all your thoughts causes a shift in consciousness that allows you to get in touch with your higher self and tune into your divinity. Even though you aren't usually told this, such a process allows a demon to enter in. The demon can be given various titles such as your spirit guide. Even when given Christian titles this form of meditation is no different than Transendental Meditation. This type of meditation, which includes Yoga and Zen are borrowed from the Hindu and Buddahist faiths. The traditions which make up this eastern wave include Hinduism (India), Zen Buddhism (Japan),Tantric Bududdhism (Tibet), Sufism (Islam), and Kabbalah (Judaism). Now through various popular Christian teachers who promote meditation, such as Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Richard Foster, Tony Compollo and others to numerous to list them all here it has stormed it way into the church. When Yahweh (the Father's name in Hebrew) invites us to come and reason with Him (Isaiah 1:18), he isn't asking us to let go of all thoughts, but rather prayerfully consider what the Scriptures are saying. According to the Webster's Dictionary to reason means "to examine through debate or discussion." In such discussion you are actively thinking, not letting go of all thoughts. To avoid being deceived by Old Age mysticism you need to arm yourself with the facts. This book does an excellent job of presenting those facts. Remember Old Age Spirituality began with Nimod at the tower of Babel. It's not ancient wisdom, but rather ancient deception from Satan.

Throwing Some Light on the New Age-Spirituality Movement,

This review is from: For Many Shall Come in My Name (Paperback)
Ray Yungen has spent over 22 years studying and researching the New Age movement after being a follower himself. He goes into detail why Christians should be running from things like so-called "Christian Yoga" and other "spirituality" movements because they are all related to the New Age movement. Contemplative and breath prayers are also exposed as what they really are in this book.He pulls no punches and names names, which is necessary to pull these heretical beliefs out into the light. Oprah Winfrey and Eckhart Tolle are 2 of the major names in these circles, but beware because even people like Beth Moore condone contemplative prayer via her endorsement of the "Be Still" DVD with Richard Foster, Dallas Willard, Max Lucado, and Moore herself. The underlying theme of the Be Still DVD is that we cannot truly know God or be intimate with Him without contemplative prayer and the state of silence that it produces. This is completely anti-Biblical. When God says, "Be still, and know that I am God", he is telling us to not be dismayed or nervous because He is in control. He is not endorsing contemplative or breath prayer, yoga or anything else. God admonishes us in the Bible to abstain from these acts and avoid the people that practice the things covered in this book. 2 Corinthians 6 comes to mind with respect to these practices. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.-- Acts 16:31 God bless.

This book is one that will open your eyes. In this day and age, we are letting false "prophets" and teachers fool the masses, both in the Church and outside the church. But inside the church is where it is most dangerious - Christians should read this book and become more aware of those preaching in the Name of God for their own profit.Read this book and if you don't have the desire to be cautious, then you were not paying attention.

For Many Shall Come in My Name by Ray Yungen. Thank God for this book.In these days when so many nonbiblical ideas come into the Church and interpret the Bible contrary to Scripture, and ideas and practices are dressed up as " it must be the Holy Spirit talking to us/teaching us", we need the gift of discerning between spirits and we must test everything. We must remember The Lord Jesus' warning that in the last days very clever spritual deception would come trying to deceive even the very elect. Ray's Book looks in depth at many contemporary spiritual issues including Ancient Wisdom and the New Age, the kinds of meditation and spiritual prayer coming into the Church and how eastern religions are guiding christians away from the Bible and into new philosophies. I heartily recommend this Book Brian Keatley

Good Critical Analysis of New Age Mysticism,
By
This review is from: For Many Shall Come in My Name (Paperback)
How many "false prophets" are there out there professing to give you the answer? To many! This author does a good job of helping unwravel the mystery and alure of the "new age" as it has influenced our society and exposing it for what it truly is. To often we are lured into believing unrealistic and irrational beliefs that can actually harm one psychologically than help them. How many times are we told not to think, analyze or examine by new age thought but to simply accept the "truth," Thank you for helping dispell myths, support fact and critical thinking in addition to supporting healthy religious thought. Thank you Ray Yungen.

Curious about all the people meditating, visualizing, reaching for their "inner Christ consciousness" or "higher self"? Curious is one thing, concerned is another; this book will tell you why you should be concerned, for yourself and for your children.
