This book was recommended to me by a Nova Scotia native when I was preparing for my first-ever trip to the area to do my genealogical research. It is outstanding for people looking for out of the way areas. It is broken down into counties, and then each county is gridded out similar to the Thomas Guides in the US. I felt extremely confident in driving in the lesser-known areas because I had this book with me at all times. It is a definite must have book for any traveler heading north.
