5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Useful Map Of Rome For Sightseeing, May 31, 2006
This review is from: MapEasy's Guidemap to Rome (Map)
I like the MapEasy guides because they are easy to read and interpret. They are great for planning but even better for use while on foot, especially in unfamiliar cities.

This map of Rome is great for seeing the many sights, and especially useful for navigating the ancient landmarks. The map has several insets of all the popular Roman destinations, and not only depicts interesting historical sights, but also shows things of practical importance to modern travelers such as retail stores and malls of different types, restaurants, churches, banks, and transportation locations (bus stops, subway and train stops, etc.) It is especially strong on historically important areas such as the Colosseum and Roman Forum (and adjacent Via dei Fori Imperiali.)

Much of the map is in perspective views which help people new to an area get their bearings. It has illustrations that are detailed enough to be useful, but is not so packed with detail as to render it hard to interpret. From a practical standpoint, it is made of a water resistant material, yet is not stiffly laminated, so it is easy to pack and carry.

I highly recommend the MapEasy map of Rome to anyone planning a visit to Italy, and especially to those new to the city.

This map of Rome turns out to be very helpful, as it shows where stores, restaurants and hotels are, making it very easy to know where to go and how to get there.

There's also some information on the subway stops, but it's not muchs as Rome has only a few stations.

The detail on the streets may not be as extreme as other maps may have, but it's enough to get you up and going.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easiest map!, July 8, 2005
This review is from: MapEasy's Guidemap to Rome (Map)
We just got back from Rome and carried this map with us everywhere. It is the bible of maps! Great little icons for all landmarks, even good restaurants, etc. But best of all, the easist map to read if you are unfamiliar with the area. A must have for travelers.
