Worthless,
By Linda (Arizona) - See all my reviews

I am very disappointed in this map. It is basically worthless. It is very crude, and grossly exagerates the waterways. You cannot distinguish rivers from lochs. And it does not include any of the railways! You can get better maps of Scotland from the Internet for free. Do not waste your money on this map.

Worse than worthless!,

I have to disagree with the review above that says this map is worthless. Worthless would actually be an improvement! This map is full of misleading and outdated information, and this arguably makes it worse than having no map at all.
For example, here are some of the errors I noticed in 2 hours of hopelessly roaming around trying to find my hotel using this map: 1. The map shows that you can take Morrison Street east to Grassmarket. You cannot, the road is blocked at Bread Street, forcing you to turn around and try to find another way in. 2. The map implies you can turn north onto Hanover Street from Princes Street. Guess what? You can't, unless you happen to be driving a bus or a taxi! 3. Some roads (e.g., Calton Hill) are omitted completely even though they are well within the bounds of the mapped area! This street is cobblestone and so I'm pretty sure it has been there for several lifetimes, so not sure why it is missing completely from the map. And as noted by the previous reviewer, the Scotland side of the map is unusable due to a very poorly chosen color scheme and a preference for art over function. I eventually found a free city map and was then finally able to figure out how to get to my hotel. I wish I'd started with that one instead! I had high hopes for the MapEasy Edinburgh map after favorable experience with the water resistant New Orleans map by the same company. But the Edinburgh map will leave you more lost than you began! Save yourself the money and the headaches and pass on this one.

This map just detailed Scotland on the top but also covered Edinburgh on the back end. It had an older publication date but was well worth the cost.
