A book for the true novice at mapping.,

The book was useful, but there's, literally, nothing else avaiblable on this topic. The most frustrating element came when I discovered that the book covered an older version (Office 95, not 97)of Excel, and nowhere on the cover does it disclose which version the book is written for. The examples differ significantly (in a few cases) from the way the program works in Office 97. It was good that the book was step-by-step, but some of it was frustratingly slow. One of the examples (Delivery Route Assignment, p. 162-171)went to an extreme to demonstrate a programming flaw. Though technically correct, the book was not tightly-written. It was wordy and had much clumsy prose. More examples were needed, particularly one for a direct mail or catalog operation. Also, the examples in the companion disk could have been more extensive. Bottom line, MWMO really doesn't meadure up to the quality of the "step-by-step" series by Microsoft Press, but it gets the job done, though somewhat expensively, at its list price of $40.
