3.0 out of 5 stars Cookbook Astrology, November 3, 2011

This review is from: Mapping Your Travels & Relocation: Finding the Best Place for You (Astrology Made Easy Series) (Paperback)
The "Mapping Your ..." series of astrology books (AKA "Astrology Made Easy") has not been a great success, I feel. The relocation chart interpretations given in this example are valid, but "cookbook" interpretations, nothing a person can't generate using a list of rulerships (Rex Bills' "The Rulership Book" is still the best). This criticism can be leveled at all the titles in the series.

The CD bound with it sets up nicely and does all the mathematical work of erecting a birthchart. It easily recalculates for a new place of residence, lets the astrologer choose the house system, and allows viewing and printing of the chart. However, the data on the CD is also inflexible, allowing the user only to select those places already in the database; it cannot be expanded, and the user cannot enter coordinates.

If you don't know how to do the extensive math to erect and recalculate a chart for various phenomena the "Mapping Your ..." titles are helpful. This book is neither better nor worse than the others in the series; a good starting place, but not the only book you should rely on for thoughtful interpretation. March and McEvers, along with Sakoian and Acker, have written better.
