I'll be brief as I'm just passing through so to speak. I've had this cd for several years. Over time it has become one of my favorites, one which I can play and enjoy repeatedly without tiring of it. I would highly recommend this cd if you appreciate early french baroque (such as Couperin and Lully).
Each time I hear the opening of the first suite -- Suite I -- I am amazed. The emotion, tone, voice, melody are at once extremely sad, fragile, elegant, but above all beautiful.
I also own the 2nd book of viol pieces, and prefer the 3rd to the 2nd.
