"Marathon 2: Durandal" is a first-person shooter that was originally designed for Macintosh users only. Fortunately, it has crossed over into PCs, so get ready, people; the fun's about to start!

You are the reluctant security chief on a generation ship; I say "reluctant" because you didn't ask for this job; you were shanghaied into it! Your mission is to transport down to an alien planet, check out various areas for their technology and information, and generally kill anything that moves. Backing you up are Durandal, the sentient computer that's gone more than a little crazy, and the ships' crew [they're known as "Bobs", which short for "Born on Board"]. Neither is very much help, so you'll have to rely on your wits and your weapons. Speaking of which, here's your arsenal:

.44 Magnum, semi-auto, 8-round clip (x2)
Ion pistol (disrupts electronic cicuits) (x1)
WASTE-M 12-gauge double-barreled sawed-off combat shotgun (x2)
MA-75B assault rifle, with 52-round clip and 8-round grenade launcher (x1)
TOZT-7 flamethrower (x1)
Alien plasma rifle (x1)

Along the way, you'll discover new enemies, a few old friends, and the adventure of a lifetime! My rating: 10/10.

This game is great but should not be paid for because on http://trilogyrelease.bungie.org/ they are avaible for free on windows/mac/linux. also this download is free because in 2005 Bungie (the copyright holders)made them open source which means that they can be distributed for free. i would recommend this for collectors who want the packageing and what not. Hope this helped, and again, the game is a blast and for sure worth checking out, but maybe not worth the price when it can legally be obtained for free.
