Confused story and difficult to read,

I was disappointed with this book. It is NOT like the Bungie Mac game Marathon. The premise is a deep space journey with a small crew. The characters are not consistely written, the AI, artificial intellegence, is not explained in any convincing manner. There are odd dream sequences. The plot does not flow at all. I finally gave up trying to make sence of the book about half way through. It was not worth the time to finish.
