5.0 out of 5 stars Marathon 1: Marathon, too?, August 2, 2005
A Kid's Review
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Marathon (MAC) (CD-ROM)
Okay, okay... first off, I'm not a kid, I'm just too lazy to bother making my own account just to write a review. Now... Marathon, the first game in Bungie's pre-Halo Marathon series is interesting, especially compared to the Marathon series games that followed it. It uses a slightly different engine with different graphics compared to the engines used by Marathon 2 and Infinity. However, it's fun, cool, and a neat little piece of computing gaming history. Well worth playing, BUT: you can legally download it from Bungie itself (for both Mac and PC!) at (...), as well as the other two Marathon games... so you don't really need to buy it. Anyway... try it out, and frog blast the vent core. And, please, don't kill BOB.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marathon, July 26, 2005
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

Marathon was bungie's second step in the first person "foray".
Pulse pounding gameplay, an intricate storyline.
A game that most definitley will go down in history.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game, but not worth the price as it can be legally obtained for free, February 27, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Marathon (MAC) (CD-ROM)
This game is great but should not be paid for because on [..] they are avaible for free on windows/mac/linux. also this download is free because in 2005 Bungie (the copyright holders)made them (all three marathon games) open source which means that they can be distributed for free. i would recommend this for collectors who want the packageing and what not. Hope this helped, and again, the game is a blast and for sure worth checking out, but maybe not worth the price when it can legally be obtained for free.
