This review is from: 18" Marble Black and White Chess Set (Toy)
I consider chess to be the best and most ingenious game ever created. But that doesn't mean that I consider every set good. This one cost me over $100 and the price was reasonable because the set is marble. And as an embellishment it's doing its job well. However, the set isn't practical if one is an avid player, as I am. It's just too expensive and the pieces aren't comfortable to navigate. I recommend saving the money and buying a wooden set instead. There are very beautiful ones that will serve to decorate your home and be useful for playing.

This set wildly exceeded my expectations. It's really beautiful. The board is inlaid very well and the pieces are large and well made. The whole thing weighs about 20 pounds. The pieces are a little simplistic in design, but still elegant.
