My daughter got this toy for Christmas 2009. It's still by far her most played with, even with a Wii in the house. It provides endless possibilities for configuration. She loves this, and spends hours developing new ways to create tracks, followed by periods of watching the marbles fall. The other posters are correct-the marbles provided don't always have enough weight to make it through the track, and can get stuck. Additionally, I don't understand either why some pieces are smaller than others-it makes building REALLY annoying, when she can't do what she wants, and like the others, we tend to leave them out. Did I mention my daughter was 11 when she got this? So don't think it's just for the younger ones. My daughter aspires to be an engineer, and this toy definitely gets her mind working "outside the box." I would absolutely buy this toy again and recommend it to others. I am even considering buying a second one to create bigger tracks!

my 3yr olds like it, simple fun. not the easiest to put togehter, but doable. one complaint, does NOT use standard marbles. our dog chewed the marbles, and now I have to figure out where to get these smaller-sized marbles.

I bought this marble run for my five year old daughter. On Christmas Eve we made eight different marble runs and when other kids showed up for a Christmas party, this is what they played with. It was a huge hit! This is a great set that promotes critical thinking and team work. So far, she's played with this more than any other toy she got for Christmas.

If there is one problem, it is that the marbles that come with it do not work. They are too light and tend to get stuck in the tracks. Luckily, I had an old set of glass marbles and they were heavy enough to follow the track all the way through without getting stuck. I would definitely recommend this one, but do plan on buying the heavy glass marbles. Be sure to get small ones, though. I have three different sizes and only the smallest ones would work. The rest were too big for parts of the track.
