Pieces are fairly sturdy, treat them right and they aren't that fragile. My son loves to run the marbles and watch them race through the track. Good toy, plenty of pieces to make a variety of runs. Overall a good choice.

Was looking for a sturdy plastic marble run to buy my son for Christmas (he will be 4 in a month) and decided to purchase this one after reading the reviews. Great product, it's sturdy, made of hard plastic, fairly easy to put together, real marbles, and enough flippers and funnels to keep him entertained. The first time my son tried putting it together it did fall apart on him, but it was his design, not the product itself. After a few attempts he realized that he needed extra support on the bottom if he extended the run out. Rate very highly for it's educational value, cost, and durablility. Added note: The pieces were laying on the floor and he stepped on them...nothing broke.

We bought this product through a fund raiser at my 3 1/2 year old son's school. He LOVES it! He brings it out everyday and he and his father build a different route each day. Endless possibilities! It really promotes thinking skills as he designs, builds, and tests each route.

Although the set came with a variety of pieces...plenty for a starter set, finding extension sets for it has been difficult. I do wish there were different additions and accessories for it.

I highly recommend the product and would buy it again without hesitation.

I bought this marble run for my niece and nephew for Christmas in 2009, who were 2 1/2 and 4 years old at the time. They both absolutely loved it and were highly entertained by putting the marbles in the top and watching them go down and shoot out the bottom and spin all over the wood floor. It's a great toy in concept but it has a few things that only make it 4 stars instead of 5 for me: It is not easy to put together a "good run", even for an adult. You have to think of a strategy as some of the pieces are deadends and so the marble will not go through, making this run a better toy for older kids who can put it together themselves. Another thing is that the pieces are plastic and once you start building the run higher, it starts to teeter and can topple over very easily. You have to treat it gingerly once you have it assembled so it doesn't fall apart. I spent a good deal of time trying to design a good run that would be sturdy. The kids got a little impatient waiting for me. But at the end of the day, it is a very entertaining toy and they have experienced much joy in playing with it, despite its few "flaws". I would recommemnd it.

I bought this for my son when he was 2. He is now 10 and he STILL gets these out to create and play with the numerous ways to make the marbles go faster. I am now going to buy a second one for my neice. I hope she loves it as much as my son.
A must buy for all kids.

We bought this marble run for our daughter when she was 4. She's now 10 and still loves to play with this toy. She asked for a 2nd set so she could make it even bigger, which we bought. The set is challenging as kids can create their own twists and turns and must figure out where to put landings and chutes so that the marbles keep moving all the way to the end. When the cousins (boys age 8-11) come over, it's the first thing they ask to play with. Keeps kids occupied and fascinated for hours. Highly recommend.

My husband loves this toy, which means he gets to spend hours playing with my four year old son. It's a little advanced for my son but he's starting to get the idea after playing with his dad, and the entire family loves watching the marbles run through. It's a nice looking set, and seems pretty durable but we haven't had it for long. I have used another marble run that's not as good-we love this one!

I bought this for my 7 yr. old grandson, who is autistic. It is similar to a toy he had at school. He loves building things, and really enjoys watching the marbles!

We gave this toy to our Grandson for X-mas and as soon as he opened it all he wanted to do is creat a path so the marbles would run down the track. This is a great educational toy it allows the child to develop differeny track lay-outs to make the marbles go in different directions and the laws of physics.

This product is listed as Discovery Toys Original Marble Run. Anyone who has ever owned the original will recognize this is a poorly made imitation. I enjoy buying on Amazon but this time I feel like I have really been cheated.
