Pell Mell - Experimenting With Prog Styles,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Marburg (Audio CD)
I have become a big fan of this German prog band and looked forward to giving Marburg a listen. Good news is that it contains some of the same epic organ and guitar work showcased in later efforts with classical and jazz influences. The bad news is the lead vocalist who tends to scream or yoddle - singing in English. Not enough to make the CD unlistenable but later efforts are much more refined. That being said, the opening track is a stunner (The Clown And The Queen). Gives you a feel for where this band would head - symphonic rock of the first order. Worth buying if you like the band but stick with later releases for the full musical force of Pell Mell
