Editorial Reviews

The artist Marc Chagall died in March 1985, at the age of ninety-seven. For nearly eighty years he painted in a unique style that captivated generations of art lovers and both fascinated and infuriated his critics. This program was made very shortly before Chagall's death and is the last film made about this great artist during his lifetime. It looks at his work through the eyes of a young English painter whose curiosity about the artist is aroused when he finds he is living in Chagall's old studio in Paris. The camera follows the young man as he travels through France on the trail of the enigmatic artist.

2.0 out of 5 stars boring and misrepresented. Nothing about Chagall September 22, 2012

I bought this to use in a lesson with teens about Chagall - I thought it would actually be about Chagall. Instead it was about this person's experience in France, and had nothing to do with Chagall. Misrepresented and boring, to boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magic December 26, 2012

We saw these windows in Jerusalem in the hospital Synagogue. To listen to the story behind each window and Marc Chagall was fascinating. One needs also to read up on Chagall's life to understand him more fully. One window even had a bullet hole in as a result of war.
