Created by designer Marc Newson, this sleek hair dryer from VS Sassoon has more than looks going for it. It also offers smart construction and a wide-ranging versatility not found in many hair dryers. With a 1,875-watt motor, direct airflow, and wide output nozzle, the dryer is powerful as well as efficient. Newson's most attractive design decision is to have separate sliding switches for heat and speed, allowing you to choose between six total combinations of hot, warm, and cool temperatures and high or low speeds. A separate finish button lets you lock styles in place with a shot of cold air. For safety, the dryer comes with a self-regulating thermostat to cut power if the unit overheats and an ALCI safety plug with test and reset functions. I am happy withthis purchase, for a [$] blow dryer it works very well, it is powerful and light in weight. The buttons are a little difficult to get used to, but it blowed dryed my bleached out hair well. The unique design concentrates the air on the area you need. If you are not a proffesional and just need a good low dryer, this is a perfect and GOOD LOOKING choice.

The first one I had died after about a month, sent it to the manufacturer (VS) and they quickly replaced it with a brand new one. Works very well now. At least you know if it dies on you VS will quickly replace it.

I was intrigued by the funky design of what otherwise is a mundane product, and on the whole it did not disappoint. Be cautioned, however: this is a full size blow dryer, which I did not expect for some reason. But it is very light, and it dries my fine hair quickly with fewer "frizzies" than my old (now broken) one. I do not know if this is because it is an "ionic" dryer, as some have claimed. (I could find no documentation on the package, etc., to confirm that.) I give it only 4 stars because if it is ionic, this should be better indicated by the marketers, and also because I rarely hand out a perfect rating on anything. But on the whole, I am satisfied with this product.
