This is without a doubt one of the best performers I've ever heard in my life and this cd stands high in the music world. Manolito Simonet was the director of a well known Cuban group call Maravillas de Florida and around 1993 left to create his own group.This is one of the tightest and most powerful ensembles on the planet. I strongly recommend to see this band live if humanly possible. For those of you who like Salsa, this cd will bring you the bravest of all Salsa and for those of you who like Timba, this is very powerful Timba in a more traditional style. Every time I hear the song Marcando la Distancia, I get chills down my spine and always wonder what could be next?... well his newest release says it all.... look for the album "Se rompieron los termometros". and see that you will not be disappointed at all. Although I'm a big fan of Bamboleo, Paulito, Van Van, Bakuleye etc. I still believe that Manolito Simonet is one of the top 5 soneros that Cuba have given birth to undoubtedly. This is real and serious music.
