I was delighted to hear these remastered Sousa marches.They were true to the sound of antique Sousa recordings without the scratches and needle noise.These give me insight into American military band music of today.If you are a fan of military band music, buy this record.It is of great and pleasant value.

I found this item to be very good the sound was crisp and the songs were well presented and enjoyable.

Wonderful and exciting music. I like to wake up to it in the morning at high volume and with a cup of strong coffee. It gets me going, and maybe my neighbors too, although they haven't complained. I find it inspiring and stirs up my creative juices. A very wise purchase on my part! Also part of a larger history when you research the March King.

Anyone who played an instrument in their school marching band will be familiar with at least some of Sousa's marches. These are timeless military classics that will inspire the freedom loving patriot in all of us. This is not the best recording of his music. It sounds much like an old record being played on an AM radio, but then again, that was what recordings of this era sounded like. This is a great recording for any musical history buff to have in their collection. John Philip Sousa directing the Sousa Band!

I like good march music, and there is none better than John Philip Sousa's. I have four of his CDs which I play while exercising on my tread mill and other machines. It really keeps me stepping and exercising.

The songs are great, but Sousa lived before quality recording existed and this CD sounds like no attempt was made to improve the quality of the recording.

I'm not buying this CD. I don't believe Sousa ever recorded. It was members of his band most likely conducted by Pryor who did. Also, it was not the full instrumentation because of the limited space in the recording studio. Sousa was not in favor of "canned" music because of the negative effect it had on live music. Also, some of the tracks on this CD were not written by Sousa. There is an excellent series on Naxos by Keith Brion up to Volume 8 (and counting) which is recording not only marches, but other great Sousa compositions. Keith attempts to duplicate Sousa's actual performance technique as closely as possible.

There was a movie on TV many, many years ago....where Mr. SOUSA played his favorite MARCHES !!! and this CD songs
became one of my favorites of all time....If i took time to sit down and relax...it would be with CD of songs...NO MATTER HOW MANY HOURS OF LISTENING!!!!!

PLUS, MILITARY MARCHES WERE ALWAYS, MY FAVORITE GROUP OF SONGS....

This was a total disappointment and had to be returned.

First the music on this CD--was not the music listed .

Very poor sound on the CD.

Stay away from this garbage !!
