4.0 out of 5 stars Good... yet, confusing.
Corrie ten Boom lived an amazing life, chronicled in the books: IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE (her early years), THE HIDING PLACE (her wartime and prison years), and TRAMP FOR THE LORD (the 20 years after her imprisonment). In her later years, she wrote a lot of books, and one of those was MARCHING ORDERS FOR THE END BATTLE. If you've read through a couple of Corrie ten Boom...

I was disappointed in this book, compared to the other books I read, by Corrie. 4.0 out of 5 stars Good... yet, confusing., September 12, 2005
If you've read through a couple of Corrie ten Boom books, then you will begin to see that she kept coming back to the same messages: God has no problems-only plans. Little catchphrases that she kept bringing up to drive home a point. Corrie's points are tremendous, and a wonderful encouragement.

But... MARCHING ORDERS FOR THE END BATTLE tends to be a little confusing at points. Sometimes it's hard to remember what she was just talking about because every couple paragraphs she changes topics almost completely. There are even a few points where the topic heading, and what ends up being discussed are completely different.

Yet, even with a little bit of confusion, MARCHING ORDERS is a pretty quick read with a lot to say. Corrie explains the fact that Christians today are in the middle of a great battle, and we need to be standing on victory ground with Jesus. Her words and stories are encouraging, and will give a new vision to Christians in this time.

Recommended reading for the Corrie ten Boom fan and for anyone looking to impact the world they live in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful battle plan, December 13, 2010

This review is from: Marching Orders for the End Battle: Getting Ready for Christ's Return (Paperback)
I now that there were other complaints that this book was kind of confusing. It has short chapters and I read one chapter at a time, kind of like a bible/book study, and digested and prayed about that one chapter before I went on. I had read Corrie's other books and listened to her sermons but I found little tidbits in this book that weren't in her previous works. This book has really helped me prepare for what I believe is coming and having the strength and faith in Jesus Christ to face it. This book is recommended to anyone looking for something that will help them do the same thing.

Corrie Ten Boom shares some of her life struggles and how the Lord carried her through them. She uses scripture to warn us that times will get bad again for the believer and how Christ is the Victor still. 91 pages and a great read.

I was disappointed in this book, compared to the other books I read, by Corrie. I could not understand why I was not receiving it, until I read a comment today, from the archives where her material is stored (one place anyway). The comment said she became aware of the Charasmatic movement and realized her gift of casting out demons and was later mostly supported by Pentecostals. I am not against any Christian religion, but I do not accept certain principles of other religions, one being spiritual warfare. I do believe there is a Devil and demons, but, I do not believe in focusing on them. I believe all our focus should be on Jesus. So, I will not spend my time worrying about "attacks of the enemy", when he is already conquered by Jesus and all we have to do is press into Jesus' word, the Bible. That is how we resist the enemy, for the enemy to flee. Some people feel called to this type of ministry, and may feel this is right for them. But, it is not for me, so I enjoyed her earlier books alot more than this one.
