Good but not great pulp adventure, not Lamb's best,
By A Customer
This review is from: Marching Sands (Hardcover)
"Marching Sands " appeared in the hallowed pages of "Adventure" magazine, one of the great pulps, some 70+ years ago. It is a good but not great adventure taking place among a lost civilization in the Gobi Desert. It is not Harold Lamb's best -- his Durandal stories and the tales of Cossack derring-do with Khlit and Kirdy are better (and should be reprinted NOW!) but "Marching Sands" is still a pleasant, undemanding reading experience.

Why is this book $20?,

This review is from: Marching Sands (Paperback)
Harold Lamb is a great writer and I'm sure this story is top-notch, but $20 for a paperback that is less than 200pages? Get Real. I'm not that desperate.
