This is one of the best carriers we've had. Having to replace our cat carrier due to fire, we chose this one and could not be more pleased. A blessing, the fire - if you can understand that in this one case. It is strong, durable, well made and very easy to get a cat into.

I received this carrier and just finished assembling it. (Which was easy) I put it down on the floor next to the Amazon box and my cat walked over, climbed in, and went to sleep. I say- quite an endorsement.

this is a great product for a small dog. I had to have my husband assemble it, I'm not good with just following a photo to put things together. It's very sturdy and well built with a secure door. we just love it!

It was simple to piece this together (no tools, just snap in place); however, one of the snapping pieces is warped and doesn't fit properly - it took maneuvering to get it to clasp. My cat is comfortable in it, which turns out to be a good thing, because he was stuck in it while I had to take it apart to get him out as the door would not open. The top spring-loaded door latch malfunctioned. So, after taking it apart to release Stevie to the wilds of my kitchen, I fiddled and finally forced with extreme pressure the latch and it snapped open. However, I don't know that this piece of tupperware with a metal door will be used again. I think it needs to be sent back.

I have a few Cayman crates as well as vari kennels. I like how sturdy the cayman's are and I really like how easy it is to unlatch the top to pack it up for storage or cleaning. I was tossing one of my crates into my car in a rainstorm. I accidentally droped the door and ran it over. Goodbye little plastic tabs to open the door. I actually thought I ruined the door. I couldn't find replacement doors anywhere on line so I called the company. They sent me a replacement door as well as some of those little plastic tabs. It turns out they are easy to replace. It also turns out that my other door was fine other than those broken tabs. The most likely thing to break on any crate is the door opening device. Now I know that I can fix it myself and that the company really stands behind the crates. I have been thinking about getting another crate and I now know for sure that it will be another Cayman.

This crate is great - I bought it for my medium-sized cat (she is around 8 pounds) and she fits very comfortably. It was very easy to put together and my cat went right in after I assembled it! Also, I received it in 4 days even though I selected super saver shipping. A+!!

In the description it says it holds up to a 22 lb pet, this could not be true. My 9 pound 7 month old cat was too long and tall for this carrier. Even though the measurements 19.5 x 13 x 12.5 inches is 3 1/2 inches larger than other small carriers, I'm doubting these measurements are correct also.
I cannot comment on the quality because I did not finish assembling the crate so I could return it in new condition. It cost me total $14.00 in shipping combined to receive and return, but Amazon offered me a 7.00 credit for the mistake. I felt that the product description misrepresented the carrier. Maybe airline approved carriers are meant to be smaller so they fit under the seat but the description should be more accurate. The poor cat looked claustrophobic in this crate.

Just got this to use on road trips with our 9-lb Chihuahua. Our dog is about 16" from head to tail and about a foot tall, and he fits in it just fine even with a sleeping pad. The carrier has nice "rounded corners" and seems very sturdy. Note: Carrier does not have compartments on top for food, leash, etc like some other carriers. Also, all accessories sold separately so no bowls either...in case that makes a difference to you. All in all, we're happy with our purchase.

The carrier I got was a little different than pictured, better actually. The top was different, it was actually caged on top so the animal could fit in through the top and it was very nice. I just wish it was bigger!! Definatley not for a 15 pound dog. Perfect for a cat or kittens! I actually sold it to someone with cats. I'm ordering the carrier 2 and hope its big enough. It was confusing at first but then fairly easy to set up bein given only picture directions... but very nice.

I purchased the carier after measuring my dog and the carrier was not as big as they say it is. My dog is only 11 pounds and it says the description say it fits dogs up to 20 pounds. It is a sturdy carrier though and it was very easy to put together. My dog could not sit properly or turn around. It was clearly misrepresented but I purchased the Cayman 2 and it was perfect. If you have a very small or short dog, this carrier works. I would reccomend that you do measure your dog and purchase the next size up. It is airine approved which is great but all in all I have to give it two stars because it was not the size or demensions the description provides.
