This is by far the best looking & sounding drum DVD I've ever seen. Not to mention, Marco's playing, OH MY GOD!!!
Seeing is believing, there's so much great stuff on this DVD, killer performances, solo & with the band ... and even though I can't play most of this stuff, I can understand it, the lessons are great and easy to follow, especially when he's playing through the book examples (which is very cool too, Extreme Interdependence)! Marco, you're my new hero!!!

Wow! I started playing drums over 25 years ago and had to take some years off in between. I started playing again last November and I am amazed at the level that these guys are taking drums and percussion. Marco's DVD is better than Thomas Langs "Creative Control" in my opinion because I find that the music that he plays to is very fusion oriented for the most part. Marco is definitely coordinated and has unbelievable interdependence skills. Definitely a DVD for upper intermediate to advanced. I believe that a beginner would perhaps be amazed but possibly a little discouraged at the patience and practice that would be required to be a drummer of Marco's caliber.

Since I can't say anything different than has been said in other reviews; I'll just say [expletive deleted] !!! This guy needs a few more limbs. I see him using his head next to play the drums, then his nose, ears, etc.... (you get the picture) Mesmerizing to watch play... and you drool over his kit. You just can't go wrong in getting this dvd. Inspiring lessons interspersed between the songs. Place bets NOW!

Marco Minnemann is pushing rock and jazz fusion drumming to new levels. His interdependence skills allow him to play grooves consisting of ostinato patterns using 1, 2, or 3 limbs while improvising with the remaining limbs - and often in odd time signatures. But what makes all of this so incredible is that it sounds musical. Marco isn't just throwing a bunch of advanced technique and blazing fast fills into his performance. He is composing music that is difficult to play but also enjoyable. Many of the odd time signature pieces don't sound odd but flow with melody. I'm looking forward to getting more of Minnemann's work.

I'm blown away by this DVD. Marco proves that he's not only the technical cat, but also a great composer and allround musician. I just bought his new CD Mieze, were he almost played and sang everything......ammmaaazing stuff. Go and get all that great stuff!!

This "Drum Geezer" guy probably uses all of Minnemann's chops!!! :-) ...AAND doesn't write music himself, do you?

Minnemann's DVD is great, he plays his compositions with a band, explains his style and techniques AND he's capable to performing it in a VERY musical way, not only on the drums BTW. Check out his CDs as well, they're awesome. Other than probably "Drum Geezer", Minnemann is able to write and perform music in various styles and with various artists around the world.....and meanwhile his cymbals sound even better:-)

Have fun with this DVD. It's worth the money 1000times and in my opinion it Rocks!

WOW! If your looking for inspiration at any level then this is the DVD for you! I've never seen ANY drummer play like MARCO before! You won't believe the drum sound (5.1 Surround Sound) and EVERY camera shot is upclose to the point where I felt I was right in the room with him. Marco breaks down patterns to his songs and his unique hand and foot interdependence so that anyone can follow and apply these techniques immediately to the drumset. With over 4 hrs. of footage along with mp3 downloads and a 15 page PDF booklet with exercises and play-along drumcharts, this is one I'm going to watch and learn from for a very long time. My drumming improved immediately.I highly recommend EXTREME DRUMMING and at $$$, ya'can't beat it! GOTTA GET IT!!! WOW!!!

Marco Minnemann didn't play with Steve Vai before Virgil....that was Mike Mangini, I think "dose 2000" mixed that up.
But anyways.....keep on buying this DVD, it's worth it!!! and...check out marco's music on his site, there's lots of great stuff!!

This is a great dvd by a great drummer. Period. Marco is fantastic & has done some incredible work w/Steve Vai. But if you know Vai, he always try's to better his touring band's rythym sections. Hence he replaced Terry Bozzio w/Marco & then replaced Marco with imo the greatest drummer playing today, VIRGIL DONATI! Vai has a new dvd comming out supposedly in Sept.
2003. It will feature Donati on drums & the amazing Billy Sheehan
on bass!

If you like drummer's with incredible independence-interdependence, you need to find the 5 hr long dvd called, "The Ultimate Drummer's Weekend 2002", as it features 40 mins of Donati(22 of which are his jaw dropping solo)& about the same of Dave Weckl, & his incredible band! There are many other great drummer's(Dom Famularo-John Tempesta & Grant Collins just to name 3)on this 235 min dvd!

Donati has been hailed by drummer's the caliber of Dennis Chambers-Simon Phillips-Dave Weckl who said, "Imagine how long you'd have to practice to do what Virgil does?" Mike Portnoy who
admits he cannot keep up with Virgil or come close to matching his hand & foot speed. Lord nobody can match Virgil's dbl bass technique! he does seemless double stroke rolls(at 1000 beats per minute!)with his feet that will amaze anyone! Look for this dvd at you local drum store or visit Musictek's website. Believe me you will not be disapointed!

MM is a fabulous drummer with a fab dvd, I reccomend it highly!
