The bench is stable and is exactly what I anticipated. I had Marcy standard bench with butterfly and preacher curls, but it was not tall enough. This bench is tall enough and is comfortable (a relative term for a weight bench). I'm 6'1" and lay back without hitting my head on the press bar (which occurred on the old bench). Including getting my tools ready and putting them back in place, assembly took me 1 hour and 20 minutes. Everything fit in place as intended. I formally had to store additions weight plates on the floor. This bench has two storage bars, one on each side. This bench requires either a 6' or 7' bar; a 5' bar will not work. The mounting / holding "pins" for the preachers curl and seat are spring loaded so the adjustment of the seat and the removal / replacement of the preachers curl bench is very easy to accomplish.

After reading other owners reviews, I was a bit concerned about purchasing this bench, but it is everything I hoped for, with none of the concerns that the other owners conveyed. It is sturdy, the preacher bench is stable with very little motion, the leg station is plenty high off the ground so my feet don't touch. (I'm 6ft tall) The fact that the bench and the rack are separate, makes this bench better than any of the others I checked on. The price was 80 dollars less than a local retailer. So it was a great buy all the way!!!

I ordered this bench (Marcy Diamond MD867) with the purpose of being able to do barbell bench press and squats without the power rack price. I've been made aware of quality concerns with Marcy products or products that are less than $200.

I chose this bench so that it could help accommodate standard bars/plates, and it accommodates both standard and Olympic! (With the 2 inch Olympic adapters).

For the longest time I have used dumbbells for chest presses and squats, and as I increase the weight on the dumbbells, the more susceptible to injury I have become, since I do not usually have spotters. This bench allows me to progress with the chest presses and squats.

I also liked that it could hold 600lbs (300lbs user, 300lbs crutch). I can see myself outgrowing this, but in the meantime, this is fine for me, and I feel it can hold more than 300lbs.

As far as what kind of bars it holds, I have a 6 foot (72 inch) standard bar and it fits the bench snugly. When I have standard plates on it, it does tend to hit the catchers. I've actually had to adjust the catchers since, during the pressing movements, it would go against the longer safety catchers. I think an Olympic bar is more suited for this bench than standard, since the plates would not be so close to the catchers.

The leg developer (leg extension, lying leg curls), is more effective for me than a dedicated body solid leg developer that I have, and I think that is because of my height (5"5). My feet are able to plant to the ground just fine with this bench, and it is plenty tall enough so that I can perform proper squat movements.

This weight bench is great for short or medium sized guys. Taller guys (or guys with long legs) might want to avoid because the leg lifting apparatus probably isn't going to be high enough off the ground.

The bench itself is very sturdy and well constructed. Putting it all together was very simple and took about an hour and a half with two people.

You can do 6 different exercises with the bench:
-Leg Extensions
-Leg Curls
-Preacher Curls (When preacher curl pad is attached)
-Bench Presses
-Incline Bench Presses
-Squats

This is the perfect bench for any young guy who doesn't have a lot of money and is looking for an affordable and sturdy weight bench to do a simple workout routine with.

Shipping package was intact; all the parts were there; directions were pretty clear about assembly.
Bench works fine (I don't really use the other parts). I put the safety catches up top and used the other catch as a safety catch because the safety ones stick out too far and hit my elbows.

It all went together fairly easy. Took me about an hour. The only thing that is a little off is that the section where the seat is connected, wiggles a bit. If those tubes were more square or rectangular, that might ease the issue.

I read all the reviews before purchase and cannot believe that any of the five star reviewers know anything about true bench presses, or they are very small and can do a proper press on this bench, or they are false reviews. As we all know a true press should leave .. forearms perpendicular to the floor and with this bench I am not even close to this. Not to mention that the preacher bar is all but useless as it doesn't allow for enough downward movement to be effective. The bench itself is rather unstable, and the adjustments are difficult to perform. All of this said, I used a reciprocating saw and drill to modify the support stands and was able to squeeze enough room out of them to just make a proper press, but I have to be very careful not to crush my hands or knock the catches out on the way up. I would not recommend this product unless you are skilled at metal work and don't Care about the preacher curls.
