Could be a lot better with heavy rubber bands.,

I've owned two of these and neither one lasted very long. When they first came out they were very well made of aluminum, a real quality product. When the tension wire broke I called the factory and they said no problem send it in to get it fixed. They sent back one made of plastic which lost all weight tension within weeks, its worthless. The problem with this product is that it starts losing tension immediatlely, the spring gets weakened with use. A better product would be with heavy duty rubber bands that you could replace or add to for more resistance. Put the rubber on and I'll buy it again but will do wrist curls with weights until then. They only people who buy this is weight trainers or the injured and they don't care about how it looks just if it works.

Two years ago, I tore one of the transverse ligaments in my wrist playing racquetball, which was the unfortunate combination of a dusty court, 200 pounds of player moving about 15 miles an hour, a poorly timed forehand and very hard wall.
I had two surgeries to repair the injury, and it was mostly successful. The biggest side effect has been weakness in my injured wrist and hand. I have moved beyond squeezing toys and putty, but I lacked the strength to do weight training. This device has been a tremendous breakthrough for me. I have been able to make some rapid gains in my strength without risking injury with weights. I am already seeing the difference in just two weeks. If you are recovering from surgery such as carpal tunnel or other wrist related injuries, I strongly recommend making this device part of your recovery plan. Of course, check with your doctor and/or physical therapist before starting up a new exercise.

I bought one of these years ago. It was made of metal and very heavy duty. You could adjust the tension to very difficult. After a decade, it finally died. I bought this new replacement model. It is light, plastic, and not as substantial. Also, you can't adjust it to the degree that my earlier model would allow. So I have to do many more reps to get to that point of exhaustion. But no one else makes one like this, so what are you going to do?
