Terrible transfer, May 26, 2005
I've been a fan of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band for many years. i was out cruising the internet when I came on their site, www.preservationhall.com. On the site I found a double CD, Sweet Emma and her Preservation Hall Jazz Band, recorded live in 1964 Only available from them directly. Ordered it and found some of the sweetest music ever recorded. Can't recommend it too highly. So, I ordered this CD through Amazon. Unfortunately, the background crowd noise is so loud as to make the music basicly impossible to hear. Someone needs to take a little time to do some remixing and cut down on the chatter. Until that happens, don't bother.
