About the Author

Beverly Barras Vidrine is a member of the Writersí Guild of Acadiana and the Society of Childrenís Book Writers and Illustrators. She is also the author of Easter Day Alphabet, St. Patrickís Day Alphabet , A Mardi Gras Dictionary, and A Christmas Dictionary , all published by Pelican. Mrs. Vidrine lives in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The lush surroundings of his south Louisiana home and studio often influence the work of award-winning illustrator Patrick Soper. This book beautifully describes the Mardi Gras tradition of Louisiana and defines things related to it. Did you know that a scepter is held by a ruler as a sign of authority? Now I do too.
