The most important thing to remember about this heater is that the gas (heat)adjustment is manual. It is about half the price of models from other manufacturers who automatically adjust the heat. Therefore, the temp is lower on higher flows and much higher on low flows (like from a bathroom sink). I was able to get a reasonable middle setting, but one should be cautious. Also, I encountered a situation where the temp was too high for my shower so I mixed in cold and then the heater turned off due to low demand for hot! Otherwise, it worked perfectly when first hooked up, and so far operates very reliably.

We had a hard time installing (even with professional help).
There was a problem with the ignitor not seating properly.
The manual is a joke.
Lots of settings on the front panel, and no explanation...
Once we got it all figured out, though, it was really great.
Plenty of piping hot water, without end!

We live off grid and thought a tankless hot water heater would be "energy efficient" and better for the environment. This unit was installed and from day one we had nothing but problems. In the 3 months we had this unit as our source for hot water NOT ONCE could I get hot water to the master bathroom sink unless I turned on the shower first. What a waste of water when you are off grid! Once the shower in either bathroom was regulated the temp would EITHER get hotter and hotter or would shut off completely. So the choices were to be scalded or frozen! We would keep the shower head tilted to the shower floor so we could jump out of the way should either occur! In January - when Washington State hit just below 30 degrees - the pipe burst flooding our downstairs wood floor! The "installer" soldered the pipe and reinstalled the unit after we added additional insulation. It should be noted that this unit was installed EXACTLY where our original hot water tank had been located and had NEVER frozen! The solder held - but the pipes burst in a different place - once again causing flooding on the wood floor. This was a nightmare experience!
We have removed this unit and have gone back to a "standard" hot water tank!

With all the so so reviews I took a chance with this unit and I'm glad I did. First thing is figure out how to adjust the water flow to get it to fire. I have 60 psi so I thought I would be able to open the water flow all the way on the unit, not so much. The higher the psi the lower the water flow setting on the heater. With that said I was assuming I would need to put 1.5 or 2 gpm shower head to meet the demand. To my surprise I did not have to change anything, I have more pressure and hotter water than my 30 gal water ever could do. My set up, set in summer mode, water flow is almost on the low setting. and the flame is set around 3/4. The only thing I don't know is how long the batteries will last for the ignition. All in all we are pleased with this heater. One more thing this has a 5 inch vent system and the water heater is very quiet even on startup.

Customer service is horrible. I have this heater mounted and ready to go but can't run it. Why? They state you can buy the 5" vent from any home improvement center which is false. They forwarded my issue to a company that sells their heaters and they quoted me $1300.00 for 8' of vent pipe, condensate T and vent kit. A simple/standard through roof system. So beware. If your replacing and have a vent in place your better off. If not go, with a reputable company.

Was kind of easy to put in getting it regulated is very difficult. And the customer service line is busy or take 24 to 48 hours for them to call you back if you have question.
