Review
A new audiocassette tape leads listeners on a 12-mile tour of sites associated with the author of "Gone With the Wind." The drive starts at the Margaret Mitchell House, the Midtown apartment where she wrote most of the 1936 novel, and ends in Oakland Cemetery. In between, the route passes the spot where she was fatally struck by a car in 1949(Peachtree Street near 13th Street), the site of the fiercest fighting during the Battle of Atlanta (next to what is now the Candler Park MARTA station) and the hotel where most of the GWTW premier festivities took place (the Georgian Terrace). Along the way, Mitchell's own words - read by another - provide much of the lively narration. She could be quite irreverent. Of her debutante party, for instance, she says, "did you ever see so many horse-faced people in your life?" --
