Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

A courageous girl goes out to sea to make her dreams come true. This well-known poem by the great Nicaraguan poet is enhanced by beautiful black-and-white illustrations. The text is soft and musical. The book is small, but it makes an excellent read-aloud with older children.

This children's story, beautifully written by Ruben Dario, one of the most accomplished Spanish-speaking writers, was one of my favorite as a child. The verses flow like music and it is a perfect tool to help your children to develop a sense for Spanish poetry, while being transported to the magic setting of the story. This edition beautifully illustrated, has become a link between my childhood and and my children's.

Amaydani.

This story is written for both adults and children. The Spanish flows beautifully. The book could definitely be used as a tool in teaching young children Spanish. The story is enchanting and wonderfully written.
