We don't drink Margaritas, but blueberry, black cherry, and cola slushies and are anxious to try iced tea and lemonade! This is so easy, pour in your syrup, a half a cup of water and enough ice to fill the bottom of the ice container...let it cycle through and BAM...2 gigantic slushies! No mess, no fuss. It may take a couple of times to find your 'perfect' mix and it's an imposing figure on the counter, but if you like icy drinks (we call them slushies) then this is the best!

LOVE THIS MACHINE! I've had it about a month and have used it many times. It comes apart fairly easily so cleanup isn't so much of chore that I think twice about using it. The only drawback, personally, is that it's taller than a regular blender and I don't have a cabinet in which to store it! I suppose having it on the counter all the time really isn't a problem in the summer months but I might have to do something come winter. Got a little tired of regular margaritas quickly but found some awesome recipes by googling "battlestar galactica drinks".

I LOVE IT! This is probably the most satisfied I have been with a purchase in awhile. After pulling it out of the box and figuring out that I had the ice reservoir on backwards, (the funny looking clicking mechanism on the reservoir goes to the back) it was ready to go. And, luckily, by the second pitcher I had already figured out the right mix to make the perfect 'Rita! (Which I will share at the end). The machine is a snap to set up and clean up is a breeze -- something I am thankful for because my wife hesitated on my purchase since my post-margarita kitchen messes are famous around my house.

I looked longingly at purchasing the DM1000, or even DM2000, but in the end went with the lower priced model and have absolutely no regrets. The pitcher is plastic, but a very thick and sturdy plastic, and when I dropped it last night it seemed more apt to hurt the ceramic tile than the pitcher. I certainly don't miss -- or even notice the absence of -- the bells and whistles available on the higher priced models. For those on the fence, I say save a few bucks and pick this model. If you are planning a party and want to make a high volume, then do this: you can purchase a Margaritaville AD3200 Plastic Jar for DM0500 Series for $25-$30. Then you can premix several batches of the liquid mix and refrigerate. Keep a bucket of ice on hand and you are a margarita-making fool!

For those with kids, let me also suggest you order Hawaiian Shaved Ice - 3 Flavor Pack - Shaved Ice / Snow Cone Syrups to make them a snow cone while you enjoy your drinks. It being March, we went to 5 different stores looking for syrups with no luck. Finally I came back to Amazon to order them for my 5-year old. This machine does absolutely take the place of a shaved ice or snow cone maker.

Finally, the recipe . . . As I was tooling around with the ingredients, my wife popped on a little Kelly McGuire from his Blame It On Buffett album and I was quickly inspired. It is for this reason I have named it the "Kelly McGuire" Margarita and I encourage you to check out his album because it truly sets the mood. The recipe is a revamp with a couple additions from an old family recipe that originally came from a little Mexican restaurant located in the mountains outside Colorado Springs,Colo. Be careful! These 'Ritas are deceiving!! They are sweet and easy and relaxing but pack quite a punch . . .

Kelly McGuire Margarita (36 oz Margaritaville Pitcher Recipe)

9 ounces Sweet & Sour
4 ounces Triple Sec
3 ounces Tequila (I prefer a top shelf blanca tequila)
1 1/2 ounces Grand Marnier
1 1/2 ounces Key Lime juice

Pour it in, hit the button, and watch the machine work it's magic! With this amount it will mix right to the top.

I wanted to get a frozen drink maker. The ability to make shaved ice and do powerful blending is key to success in making great frozen drinks. After doing considerable research, I found this item which was well reviewed. I purchased it because of the combination of features and price. While it is the most basic of the Margaritaville models, it offers sufficient features and capacity for most home use. Other higher level models incorporate features that have questionable value for the money. These include a drink size (number) selection knob, a drink type selection switch and larger capacity ice chambers and pitchers. Unless you really need a larger drink making capacity (at one time), those other features are insignificant. They all (including the Bahamas) include a manual switch to shave ice and to blend. It's likely that you might want to fine tune the ice/blending anyway. The unit has substantial construction, appears well crafted/assembled and looks good. It is easy to use and clean. The only minor issue is that the shaved ice is a bit grainier than I would have preferred. But, all in all, this is an excellent machine that creates great frozen concoctions quickly.

I did not know what to give my boyfriend for his birthday and did a lot of internet searching for something "different". Well, he LOVED it. Really easy to use- and from start to finish it takes about 30 seconds for an excellent blended drink (of course, you have to pour your own ingredients). We actually thought about hosting a party the very next night to show it off.

In the morning he decided to experiment with a (non-alcoholic) coffee blended drink and he did pour too much liquid and when the shaved ice came down and blended automatically and it did spill over. You just want to make sure you read the directions and think about the fact that ice is going to pour in over your liquid. Just because the glass jar has the little measuring marks doesn't mean you can fill your liquid all the way to the top.

Everybody loves the Margaritaville! It arrives ready to go with easy to understand instructions for quick assembly. It is a blast to use for mixing adult beverages, turning out shaved ice for the kids, creating your own blend of smoothie, or pretty much making whatever type of drink you can think of! All with tiny shaved ice crystals like the kind you get in restaurants. This thing is brilliant!

When the Margaritaville arrived, I invited a few friends over for drinks. Normally, we play poker or rock out on the Rock Band video game while chugging imported beer, but this night was different. Everybody took a seat around the kitchen table and watched in amazement as The Margaritaville went to work. The Margaritaville is fun to use AND fun to watch!

We spent the evening making different kinds of drinks, telling stories, and just plain old hanging around and having a good time with glasses of cold sweetness in our hands. It was beautiful.

When friends invite us over to their house, they ask if we can bring The Margaritaville with us. Of course we can! This thing is awesome! I didn't order the carry bag because this thing sits easily on the floor of the backseat of our car, but the carrying case would make it easier to port. Trust me, when people know you have one of these, they will ask you to bring it with you wherever you go. Even my team mates at work demand it. Everybody loves the Margaritaville!

In a few easy minutes, you can impress your guests by mixing alcohol, frozen fruit, strawberry daiquiri mix, rum, and triple sec in the blender. Fill it a little more than half full, but no more than that or it will spurt out of the top. Then, grab the ice container from the freezer and scoop out enough ice to almost fill up the upper ice holder. Attach the lid, push the button and VOILA! The Margaritaville does the rest.

There are so many recipes on the internet for margarita's, daiquiris, cocktails, and all other sorts of delicious beverages. We love to try a new recipe every month. But you know what? It seems like no matter what we put into this thing, it comes out a magical new favorite. Delightful! Refreshing! Easy.

Those little ice crystals make any drink taste better. How? I don't know, but that's how it is. The Margaritaville is a wonderful product. It's sturdy, it is very easy to use, and every time you set your eyes on it, you can't help but tell yourself, "Hey, it's gotta be 5 o'clock somewhere!"

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Everybody loves the Margaritaville.

This machine does a great job and after using it for a couple weeks I will never go back to a normal blender. The way the ice is shaved makes the margaritas taste like restaurant quality. Machine does a great job and for $200 with free shipping is well worth it.

I love my margaritaville!!! I can think of 3 things that have improved my quality of love and they are 1 HD TV with a flat screen, 2 the kindle 3. the Margaritaville 500. I live in Vegas which is as you know has a brutal heat during the summer months, with the Margartiaville I am making cold icy drinks that taste as good as a bar for just a fraction of the cost. The Margaritaville helps make summer bearable. Yes it is expensive but if I stay at home and drink instead of spending $14 on drinks at the strip I have paid for the Margartitaville 10xs over.

Before I bought the Margaritaville my wife informed me that we have both a blender and a smoothie maker that do the same job. This may be true but they dont do the same job nearly as good as the Margaritaville, the ice is perfect and easily slides up the straw into my mouth. Go ahead and splurge on the Margaritaville you will not be disappointed. I thought about the more expensive models, but really the 500 does a fantastic job.

We bought the Margaritaville Concotion Maker because we love all sorts of frozen drinks and smoothies. The results are altogether satisfying though not always. It frequently happens that, if you use the automatic shaving and blending option, you get watery, tasteless margaritas. Knowing the maching a bit, we are able to produce nice drinks, but we expected finer ice crystals and a smoother texture than our blender can produce anyway. Therefore, if you have a well-working blender, the margaritaville might be redundant.

I ordered it, it came on the day promised.
I opened the box and out of the box it was sparkling clean and gorgeous!
I've made smoothies, drinks, and even just shaved ice for water. There isn't a single complaint I have about this machine.

You know how most standard blenders claim to be "ICE CRUSHING" but to no avail you put ice in, yo get all excited to crush ice and it gets stuck or you get large chips/chunks that arent suitable for mixed drinks or smoothies (especially with a straw).
This blender not only delivers REAL LIVE SLUSHY quality shaved ice, effortlessly but it is SUPER easy to clean.

I know Im babbling, but trust me. This blender is worth EVERY cent i paid. I make smoothies EVERY SINGLE DAY
so now I save money. I don't have to go to Jamba, Robecks or any other commercial juice chain to get the smoothie of my choice. instead I buy the ingredients and make them myself, whenever however i want.

Lose the skepticism and buy this machine.

I was gona get the larger ones...but Ive served as many as 12 people with this machine and there wasnt a wait at all.
