It is well-nigh impossible to find music that can function as a sophistocated background to a dinner party and/or that can be very much enjoyed when listened to with a critical ear. Superb musicianship; inventive, and so beautifully structured that it weaves a romantic spell. I play "Jungle Dream" over and over. Until you hear Indios Tabajaras, you would never believe that two guitars can do what these accomplish.

I was 18, and graduating from high school when a teacher lent me an album which I will never forget. In upstate New York's Adirondacks I never expected to hear such music, and thirty-three years later it is as magical and exquisite to my ears as the first note from Maria Elena I heard that summer. If you are a lover of classical music or contemporary, the arts or just excellent muscianship, this is a must-have for the CD collection. An absolute must.

The songs are great. Los Indios are lovely guitarists and harmonize well together. However they have many more CD's that reproduce these tracks plus many more. I suggest Platino 20 Hits, & Their magic guitars 2CD set, 20 Greatest Hits.

This was a CD wth certain tunes that are favourites of my husband. We had been unable to find it so were very pleased to locate it through Amazon. Delivery was first class - far sooner than predicted.

I was very satisfied with my purchase. I will be buying more items on Amazon.

Good CD - I loved all the songs except the ones they sing in a different
language (just a couple) I believe Maria Elena is one of the prettiest songs
I have ever heard so that made it worth while.

Just what i ordered, arriving in good time, in excellent condition - an item not found on itunes.

Yes, these are Los Indios Tabajaras, the splendid guitar duo from South America whose simple, sophisticated rhythms have lived in my memory for decades. I wasn't sure of it, though, because this CD is titled Los Indios Tabajares--a cruel misspelling that is never explained. Here's a thumbs-down for Bertelsmann Mexico, which produced the CD and took no trouble to give any information apart from track-listings and timings. At 30 minutes' playing time, the disc is short measure, and I was not crazy about the vocal numbers, but the instrumental genius of Los Indios--the rhythmic élan of "Maria Elena" or "Jungle Dream"--itself repays the admission price and merits the highest rating.

If anyone is listening--how about a reissue of the classical music-recordings of Los Indios? Forty years ago I had an LP titled "Casually Classic" and that's exactly what it was--containing, among others, a rendition of Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu that can stand comparison with any other. Likewise, the performance of Tárrega's "Recuerdos de La Alhambra" haunts me even today.

And one more thing for Amazon--I really would like to be able to edit my profile, or have it edited, to reflect the fact that I NO LONGER LIVE IN LOS ANGELES and am instead A PROUD RESIDENT OF SAN FRANCISCO. (Sorry for the caps, which are for crazy utterances--but this thing makes me crazy.)

When I was a young girl living in belize I remember listening to Los Indios Tabajares and I have never heard such beautiful instrumentals since then. I have been trying to find this music for a long time now and a friend only just told me after all these years the name of the artists. i am so happy that i have found this music. It is the most beautiful instrumental music for easy listening and for cocktail parties etc etc. I am looking for the album that has a sunset on the album cover. I just can't remember the name of the album. This was around 1971 or so.
