I am SO ecstatic this has been released on DVD! Not just because I no longer have it on the Beta Max (no seriously, I really did!) video I recorded from BBC1 all those years ago, but because it contains 'Love Takes Time' which the Beeb cut in the televised show. Although not a hardcore favourite of mine, I'd never seen it performed live before and it actually made me like the song that bit extra.

Whilst the extras were ripped to pieces in the press as airheaded fluff and nonsense, I actually enjoyed them still, and as always found it hard to contemplate why a genuinely nice person having fun with her friends is a bad thing?!? Madonna plays sex games and blows a bottle, and that's cool and respect-worthy, but Mariah has a food fight, and reminisces on shared memories with her friends, and that's pathetic fluffy nonsense? I really don't get this world at ALL sometimes...

This DVD is a Mariah Carey concert that was shown on NBC in the early 1990s. In the concert she sings some of her hit songs from that time period: Hero, Without You, Anytime You Need a Friend, Emotions, Vision of Love. There are also behind-the-scenes parts where Mariah is hanging out with her mom, her friends, her band. A couple of her music videos are also included as extras on the DVD.

I'm grateful for the re-release of this concert because I can only remember half paying attention to it when it aired on network television. By now everyone has formed their own opinion about Mariah - but this show portrayed her as a sugary sweet Cinderella type with an undeniably powerful voice!

I enjoyed some of the behind the scenes chats with her mom, the band & back-up singers but really bought this disc for the fantastic concert footage. It was so good to see early Mariah in concert and to see her truly enjoying herself in the behind the scenes footage - she seemed a little more open and less guarded than she appears in interviews today.

My favorite performances are: HERO, VISION OF LOVE & WITHOUT YOU. I'd highly recommend this disc to fans who didn't tape this show and to those who may be curious to see Mariah at the beginning of her career.

Mariah has an incredible voice. It was one of the best Mariah's performances of all time. I whish it had some more songs, but that's ok because the performnces are the best I've ever seen in my entire life.

finally! sony has released the nbc special on dvd! there's nothing new or different from the original vhs version, but who really cares!

The video shows Mariah during her early years as a fresh artist with exceptional talent for writing and singing. The blend of her powerful voice matches the intricate style of her songs. Her music is for everyone to enjoy.

This has been a long time coming. The fans really appreciate this release.

This is an excellent example of why mariah bacame a world best seller. Unlike the boring Adventures of Mimi, here Mariah shows her greatest talent which is of course her amazing voice. This one is highly recommended.
