5.0 out of 5 stars Mariah Mundi: The Midas Box, July 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The story begins with the young lad Mariah Mundi at a train station. Having graduated from the Colonial School, Mariah was given a third-class ticket to the town at the end-of-the-line. A strange encounter with an odd character at the station leaves Mariah in the first-class cabin with a strange deck of cards he was instructed to not open. The deck of cards is only one of the many strange things that find their way to the Prince Regent, the steam-powered hotel where Mariah is to be employed.

Packed with suspense and action, and peppered with a few wise sayings (mostly from the Christian Bible), this book details Mariah's adventures to delicious detail; I could smell the fish and taste the chocolate. I could feel the cool mist. I could see the strange labyrinth of tunnels that disappeared just beyond the reach of torchlight.

If you like a light, enjoyable, yummy read, full of supernatural curiosities... read this book!
