This is like a new age Monopoly game where you have to buy property, hire your workers and stock up your inventory. The property you can buy ranges from ice cream shops to hotels and warehouses. You can also build houses and hire your own police force to protect your town and stores.

As you progress through the game you get to help build 25 different towns and play each town in three levels of difficulty. You can even try to buy your AI opponents property or sell some to him. If a property is not doing well you can tear it down and rebuild a different style of store or property. There are 20 different styles of property you can build and you can own up to 3 of each style.

This game is interesting in that it is a strategy game that teaches business skills and like I said it reminds me of the game Monopoly. I like this game and I'll keep it on my Kindle Fire!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Tycoon game, small drawbacks February 29, 2012

Good little Tycoon style game, oddly entertaining.

It could use a tutorial, however. I started the first level, and had no clue what I was supposed to do. The buy building button is red, so I assumed it was a sell button. Couldn't find the buy button for the life of me. Backed out to the main menu, hit help, it gives a very brief overview in a rule-list format. Having a better idea, and realizing that was probably a buy button, I went back in and beat the first level easily... After I spent almost the entire first day not realizing I needed to buy an initial inventory for the store.

Fun little game, but it could stand to tell you how to actually play. I'm sure there are still features I don't realize exist.

It's pretty simplistic. Sure, as you move onward and more "obstacles" are added in, there is a slight element of complex management. Yet it pretty much boils down to the setup, that first minute before the first train of the first day begins: spend all you can on building the most expensive stores in the sweetest traffic spots, add stock, hire staff, hit x3 Fast Forward, and from there, maintain upkeep until you just may gotten enough to perhaps buy out one of the AI stores. And repeat. And repeat. And... ya.

I actually had high hopes for this. Spent over an hour playing, but mainly in sheer hope that it got better. Instead, I got "And repeat. And repeat. And... ya."

It's a really tiny download, though, with plenty of playing fields - except once you realize the mechanics are as repetitious as late night kitchenware infomercials, the interest in exploring further did pale for me. Installed less than 4MB with even that portion automatically moving off my Device Memory, leaving a tiny, tiny 668kb. Does play OFFLINE too. In-game Exit button and the back-key both quit the game cleanly.

As for code, does have a crash analytics and Google Analytics, but with the minimal permissions and no outside links at all (no More Games or anything), these are left to give anonymous aggregate data reporting on app performance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Tycoon-Style Time Blaster February 6, 2012
Verified Purchase
I loved Rollercoaster Tycoon, and consider it a golden standard for all similarly-styled games. That said, and considering the simpler format of a tablet, Shopper's Paradise easily stands up in terms of fun and simplicity. During the game you place shops and other such buildings, and tend their upkeep and staffs; and given the variety of buildings available, many valid strategies exist for success. Expect to spend many gleeful hours simply unlocking the whole of the game before reaching the "sandbox" part. 5/5!

1.0 out of 5 stars Meh October 30, 2013

This very repetitive and simplistic game seemed to have promise at the start, but alas it wondered into the relm of repeat x, y, z to move on. It didn't receive enough updates for my taste.

I didn't think I would like this game as much as I do. I was shocked to realize I had played it easily for over an hour. Fun game to pass the time.
