Pretty good...
Let me start by saying that I am NOT a professional make-up artist. I am a make-up addict though and have always been interested in it. I know the basics, but my routine was getting old and I needed something new now that I am getting older. At first skim through, the book isn't all too impressive. Fancy pictures, old information, and some new ideas. The interviews were...

Eye Candy but no substance
I received this book as a gift after reading a review in a local newspaper. I was anxious to try any techniques since I am a 40 year old mom who knows the basics of make-up application, but wanted some inside tricks. The pictures are gorgeous, but impractical for everyday wear, like bold yellow shadow with turquoise liner. The tips that were practical were ones that I...

Eye Candy but no substance, January 3, 2008
This review is from: Marie Claire Makeup (Paperback)
I received this book as a gift after reading a review in a local newspaper. I was anxious to try any techniques since I am a 40 year old mom who knows the basics of make-up application, but wanted some inside tricks. The pictures are gorgeous, but impractical for everyday wear, like bold yellow shadow with turquoise liner. The tips that were practical were ones that I already knew from other sources. It glossed the surface of wearing make-up for different age levels. So I did not get much out of tricks for a 40 year old face. Like I said, this book is just eye candy.

I know the basics, but my routine was getting old and I needed something new now that I am getting older. At first skim through, the book isn't all too impressive. Fancy pictures, old information, and some new ideas. The interviews were cute too. I did find some stuff that I really appreciated. Definitely worth a look. Depending on your level of make-up expertise, you can decide if purchasing or borrowing it and making a few copies is best for you.

Outstanding!, August 6, 2010

This is a beautiful book with much information in it's pages. This is more of a learn from book rather than a picture book although it has exquisite pictures.
