5.0 out of 5 stars A great guide book to the laws concerning marijuana
This book is completely necessary in today's world. Because propaganda and ignorance still prevail, any legalization of this God-sent drug probably won't happen in the near future. This book tells you what you need to know in order to privately use marijuana and...not get caught! It tells you the rights that you do and do not have concerning search and seizure,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Out of date but a reference.
This book it out of date if you look at it. The first few pages I browsed through said it was illegal to have marijuana in all states. I'm thinking, "You forget that if you have it for medical purposes it's legal." I decide to check out the date of this book and it is 1996. A lot of stuff has changed since then. Not too great but things have changed. I would look at this...

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderfully written guide to the law!, November 17, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Marijuana Law (Paperback)
This book was wonderfully written. It is divided into accessible chapters so you can read any chapter without missing the point. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the law, especially those who use drugs or would like to know their rights.

Some information covers basic legal rights that have remained unchallenged while other information is outdated. For example, the events of 911 and an unfolding Supreme Court have an impact on issues of privacy. Furthermore, none of California's semi legalization of marijuana is covered. The book sorely needs a companion website to be relevant to today's law.

2.0 out of 5 stars this book will NOT prevent you from getting busted, March 20, 2009

This review is from: Marijuana Law (Paperback)
this book tells you the law as it is written. but it's a drug war kiddies it's not fair it's not ment to be. i read it cover to cover this may be the law but it's not the way the police work. follow this book you'll get busted and you wont know how to get out of it.be wise and buy "busted" by chris fabricant.one thing that is a good example. this book makes it seem as if it's hard for police to get a serch warrant. for one a cop needs about 35 seconds to get one. and two thay usally do not need one. if a cop sees marijuana on your table threw your house window he needs a warrant to enter. light it up and it's destuction of evidence and he can break down your door no warrant needed.buy busted read it and stay safe till it's legal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent place to start in the journey of marijuana truth!, June 24, 2011
This review is from: Marijuana Law (Paperback)
While the laws in the book are out of date, the historical data is crucial for anyone looking for the truth of why marijuana was made illegal in the first place. This book also gives perspective on all the propaganda that has infiltrated our society for 80+ years and the false information that has been perpetrated on US citizens.

This review is from: Marijuana Law (Paperback)
Over 30 million people in the United States regularly smoke marijuana. Approximately 400,000 defendants each year are charged with the use, possession, sale, or cultivation of marijuana. Marijuana Law describes how people can reduce the probability of arrest and defend themselves from prosecution if arrested.

Readers will learn when a police officer can legally stop them; when they can be searched; when they have to be read their rights; what to do if an officer comes to their home with (or without) a warrant; and how to counter many police tactics simply by knowing their rights.

This expanded 2nd edition of Marijuana Law contains the latest information on the necessity defense in medical marijuana cases, drug testing, case law, and federal sentencing guidelines. It also contains practical tips on individual rights and avoiding surveillance. This edition also has appendices on the Bill of Rights, wallet cards, state-by-state punihment for marijuana crimes, and the 13 federal circuits; plus an expanded and thorough index.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have For "War On Drugs" Victims, May 8, 2002
This review is from: Marijuana Law (Paperback)
This book is very thorough. Especially worth mentioning is the eloquently worded preface, in which Boire likens the government's banning of marijuana to the government's banning of a particular book. (Reminds me of the Pakistan fiasco over Salman Rushdie's "The Satanic Verses" back in the late 1980's.) He then concludes, "My mind is my own." Wow! That gave me the chills.
